Snyder were married at a nuptial high mass at St. Stan islaus church in Omaha. Satur day June 11th by the Rev. F. L. Kubuszewski. Miss Betty Wildrick returned tc her heme in Omaha Sunday after spending a couple of weeks visiting her uncles Frank and Ralph Wildrick here. Mr. Kahm of Grand Island, has bought the August Ossen kop gravel pit here. The Louisville Drug store in stalled new fluorescent light fixtures last week. Miss Mary Margaret Swift of Winchester, Ky., and Mr. Leslie Amelang of Louisville were united in marriage at the First Christian church in Winchester on June 11th by the Rev. Dr. Hugh McLellan. Elaine Reveillac and Betty Woeler were shopping in Oma ha Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gruber visited Mrs. Grubers parents west of Syracuse Monday. Joe Zastera, Jr. took the State Iharmacy Board examinations at Omaha Tuesday and Wednes day. Mr, and Mrs. Chas. Peterson end family cf Wahoo, visited at the A. H. Peterson home Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. David Alfrey of Lincoln came out Friday to spend the week end at the Al ii ey home. Miss Blanche Graham, who has been teaching at Milford the past few years, is returning to her home in Lincoln Thurs day. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Alfrey, Jr. came out from Lincoln for a week end visit at the W. S. and Bert Alfrey homes. Miss Gertrude Brammer of Indianapolis. Indiana. spent the week end in Louisville as a guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Erammer. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dall and Frank of Manley were shop ping and calling on relatives in Louisville Friday. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Uhley and Leny Janusz were Saturday night and Sunday guests at the Don Uhley home in Lincoln. The H. A. Daughertys have a new Ford car. Mr. and Mrs. Oris Schliefert were in Lincoln Friday and called at the Bryan Memorial hospital to see Henry Gaebel. John W. Webb of Big Springs, Neb., was an over night guest of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Huffman on Friday night. Mr. 'Webb is a brother of Mrs. Huffman. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. McGrew were in Lincoln Monday morn ing to witness the graduation of the large class at the Universi ty. Their son-in-law, Bert Al frey, Jr., was a member of the class. Mrs. Katherine Welte of Lin coln and Mrs. Wendell Hart of Weeping Water were in Louis ville Wednesday of last week, looking after business and call ing on friends. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Zastera, Josephine, Gertrude and Tom mie, Mrs. Zulemma Dye of Flattsmouth and Miss Ann In man attended the commence ment exercises of the Universi ty of Nebraska at Lincoln, Mon day. Keil of Omaha were in Louisville Friday after noon and were supper guests at the home of Bessie Core. A card from Bill Kahler says he was in London for three days. He had dinner last Friday night with Lt. Ray Sluyter and ' wife and was to spend the night there. He expects to be home about July 4th. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Wirth are at the Annex at Ft. Snelling. Minn., where he is to undergo tieatrr.ent and a possible oper ation on his leg, which was in jured while in service. Word has been received here that Martin Wilson of Herman, Neb., lost a fine dairy barn, which was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. The Wilsons formerly lived where the Burmeisters do. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stratton are the parents of a daughter born May 31 at the Bryan Memorial hospital in Lincoln. Mrs. Strat ton was formerly Miss Arlene Zierrott of Murdock. Arthur Graham, whose arm was injured in the explosion of an emery wheel, is expected home from the hospital soon'. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gruber of St. Louis are visiting Mr. Gruber's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Gruber, Sr., at Manley. Mrs. Pryor and son, Theodore Richard, arrived Sunday from Colton, Calif., to visit her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Theo Wilcox. While there, Mrs. Comer attended "a Church Homecoming", an annual gath ering which she usually attends each year. Mrs. Nina Upton returned to Union last Thursday morning after being away for a month. She spent some time visiting a daughter and family in Alex ander, Va., and also her son who is stationed at Lake Hurst, N. J., and lives at Tom's River. She also spent some time in New York City and Atlantic City. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dewey of Glenwood, la., visited Mrs. Todd for a short time last Tuesday afternoon. Prizes went to the oldest mother, Mrs. Anna Nor ris; youngest mother, Mrs. Har vey Dettrner; youngest daugh ter, Sandra Joe Dettrner; short est mother. Mrs. E. B. Ehlers; tallest mother, Mrs. Calvin Car sten. They were then invited to the dining room to the lace covered tea table with a center piece of red roses and white lillies. Ice cream, white cake and coffee was served to all. Mrs. Dena Ruge and Mrs. Earl Free man poured. There were 96 guests.
