Forty Hours Devotion Closed Tuesday Night The Forty Hours devotions that have been conducted at the St. John's church in this city, closed Tuesday night with a very large congregation pres ent to hear the inspiring ad dress eiven by Father Elmer McFadden, of Syracuse, who with Father John Kelly, assist ant at St. John's have conduct ed the mission, Father Kelly opening the services with the address on Sunday night. The processional on Tuesday night was very beautiful with the young boys and girls dress ed in white taking part in the services. During the afternoon a con ference was held at the resi dence of Rt. Presbyterian Circle One Meets Wednesday afternoon the members of Circle No. 1 of the Federation of the First Presby terian church, were entertained at the home of Mrs. Sybil Het rick on North Third street with a very fine attendance of the members, there being twenty one members and guests pres ent. Mrs. Guy Wiles, chairman of the Circle presided over the business session of the group. Mrs. Robert Jacobs had charge of the missionary lesson and read parts of letters from a cousin in the Philippines, who is engaged in work for the church in the Pacific, proving most interesting to all those in attendance. Mrs. H. C. Wolanin, whose husband is connected with the air force, talked very enter tainingly of work in the south west with the Indian tribes of that section of the country in the mission work. Refreshments were served at an appropriate hour by the hostesses, Mrs. Sybil Hetrick, Mrs. Christy Hickey. Mrs. Fred Mumm, Mrs. R. T. Cuthrell and Mrs. Edward Lutz. Here from Marquette to Visit Relatives I Mrs. Robert Grassman and small daughter, Joyce Marilyn, have been guests for the past few days at the home of Mrs. Grassman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Fulton. M.r. Grassman ar rived over the week-end to spend Mother's Day and accompany his family home again to Marquette, Nebr., where he is a high school instructor. The Nehaw ka unit was hostess. Mrs. Elmer Yost of Milford was guest speak er and used as her theme ''Loy alty, Faith, Love" which she ap plied to the Legion Tuxiliary program. Mrs. Arthur Lamborn, vice president of Palmyra, made some timely remarks. Mrs. Chas. Attebury of Uunion conducted a forum including the presidents j of the folowing units: Green wood, Weeping Water, Platts mouth, Eagle, Union and Ne hawka. A panel discussion was given on the aims and reports of these units. The Nehawka unit served refreshments under the direction of their President, Mrs. Ernest Kropp. Mrs. Verner Lundberg and Mrs. Oren Pol lard presided at the table which was centered with spring flowers. The sextette of the Junior Woman's Club rendered two vo cal selections. Mrs. Ivan Hansen directed the convention music. Mrs. Charles Attebury of Union was elected chairman and Mrs. Stradley of Eagle, vice-chairman. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Yost and , Mrs. L. R. Yost of Milford, who ! attended the convention, were dinner guests of Mrs. E. A. Nutz- man Wednesday evening, pre ceding the convention. Rotary Club Sees Picture Program The Rotary Club had a very Interesting program on Tuesday at the regular weekly luncheon that opened up a new field, that of watch repairing and ma chine work, that had been ar ranged for the meeting by Lyle Grove, the program chairman. Mr. Grove had arranged to secure the special films that were presented with the use of the projector of Carl Chris--wiser and revealed the work that is carried on in the making of the finest watches in the world in the American factor- ; ies. ! CASE Phone 3197 Senior Class Pays Visit to Lincoln Tuesday morning bright and early the members of the Senior class of the Plattsmouth high school enjoyed that great event of the school year, "sneak day," when the members in their work day attire and armed with lunches, took off for a day from their studies. The group had chosen Lin coln as their goal, here they en joyed the day in visiting and taking in the sights of the un iversity city. The party visited the state capitol building, one of the greatest in the country, and had the opportunity of see ing the various branches of the government in operation. They also visited the University of Nebraska and Morrill Hall, look ing over the settings of the school and also seeing a few of the students from here. They made a tour of radio station KFAB and enjoyed watching the production of the various programs. MARRIED AT GLENWOOD On Sunday, May 8th, at the Christian church parsonage at Glenwood, Iowa, was held the wedding service for Miss Letha Howard and John Winters of this city.
