The accident was caused by a piece of the tractor falling on his foot. The Woman's Association of the Congregational church met Wednesday afternoon at -the. home of Mrs. Charles Spohn, with Mrs. Rasmus Lauritzen, Jr.. Mrs. J. M. Ranney and Mrs. Lloyd Ranney as co-hostesses. Mrs. E. E. Lorensen presided at a short business session, after which Mrs. Mogens Johnson led the d2VOtions and Mrs. Ray Nor ris had charge of the program, with her theme being "Back of the Harvest." From St. Catherine hospital, in Omaha, came the word of the death of Jack Lowther. Friday morning. Mr. Lowther had not been in good health for some time, but the word of his death came as a shock to his Weeping Water friends. Since the death of his wife, about a year ago, Mr. Lowther had been making his home in Omaha most of the time. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Rohdanz are nicely located in their new home in Weeoing Water, which they bought from the Anton Jer gensens some time ago. Henrv Schneider, banker, and Paul Fauquet. of Plattsinouth. were Weeping Water business visitors Wednesday. Following the morning church service at the North Branch Lutheran church Sunday, there was a basket dinner honorinar Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buchholz on their twenty-fifth wedding an niversarv. Mrs. Helen Clark is expected to arrive home ear'v this week from Rradenton, Florida, where she ha" spent the winter. Mrs. Oscar C. Hinds snent three davs last week, at the home of her son and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hinds in Lincoln. The Jollv Health Club met Thursdav afternoon at the home of their leader. Mrs. J. M. Ran nev. when thv made bandages and comuleted plans for their Achievement Day program. At the close of the program, the members held a birthday party for Mrs. Ranney. whose birthday came the following day. Before leaving for home they enjoyed an ! Easter rabbit hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith, of Des Moines, came Friday to spend Easter a.nd the week-end at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George B. Smith. In the group of the sixty out standing scholars in the Uni versity of Nebraska, who have been selected from the senior class to associate membership in the University of Nebraska's chapter of Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society of America, we find one of our Weening Water young men, George Olive, son of MrsEmily Olive, and the late Ben Olive. This is an honor which can come to only a few. We extend congratulations. A copy of the Princeton col lege paper was received by friends here, which contains a picture of the Princeton Wom an's Glee Club, of which Jane Moulden is a member. Jane is also a member of the Mixed Glee Club at Princenton. According to the '"Congregational Church Record" Jane is the first colored pirl to be invited to join their Flee club. She is a student in their Theoloeical Seminary, do in0' nest graduate work. Elizabeth Chapter O. E. S. met Tuesday evening, with a laree at tendance and initiatory work for two new members, Mrs. Barhara Parson and Mrs. Susan King. Following the regular meetine a. surprise birthday partv was held for their secretary, Mrs. Lottie Davis, who has been confined to her home for sevoral months with a broken bin. This was the first meet ins: which she has been able to attend since her accident. A large and beautiful Birthday Cake baked by Mrs. Clifford Cooner, formed the centerpiece for the dining table, and refresh ments were served by Mrs. Les ter Shrader, Mrs. Thomas Stacey, Miss Imo Heebner, and Mrs. Thorwald Hansen and Mrs. J. C. Prvor. The guest of honor re ceived a shower of handkerchiefs and of birthdav cards. Mrs. Mark Wiles was rushed to Bryan Memorial hospital. Wed nesday evening for an emergency operation, after having been ill for about two weeks. She was taken suddenly worse Wednes day evening. Mrs. Ole Olsen left Wednesday afternoon for Chicago to spend Easter at the home of her daugh ter, Mrs. Raymond Gessing and family. The Weeping Water auditor ium will be a busy place this week. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buchholz will entertain at a dancp Monday evening celebrat ing their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Wednesday eve ning there will be a wedding dance following the weddine and receDtion at the North Branch Lutheran church, of Miss Leora RinDe and Mr. Wilbert Fmshoff, and Friday evening is the regu lar evening for the meeting of the Square Dance Club at the auditorium. Rickie Allen Stratton arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Stratton, Jr., last week and re ceived a warm welcome from his narents and his older brothers. Mrs Stratton and baby were at t.
