Extension Service Meet Jan. 19 The Annual extension meeting and banquet will be held 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 1949 at the Agricultural Audti torium, Weeping Water. Dr. W. V. Lambert, Dean of the College of Agriculture will be the feature speaker for the meeting. This will be an excellent op portunity to get acquainted with Dr. Lambert, who has. taken over the chores as dean of the Agri cultural college. Kenneth Durm will be on hand again with his band to provide an evening of lively entertainment. The following board members in their respective communities have tickets for the banquet. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Laugh lin and sons were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Laughlin and Arthur at an oyster supper Wednesday. Wilbur Laughlin of Omaha, spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Laughlin. Mrs. Emma Hofmiester and Elmer and Carl and Henry Em mgarten of Central City, and Velma Cox of Ashland were New Years until Sunday visitors at the Bill Emmgarten home in Adair, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dill ac companied Paul Campbell to Bruning, Nebraska, Monday. Mrs. Paul Campbell has been visiting in Bruning since Thurs day. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Dill visit ed the Lenard Parrish home Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. B. Dill and family visited Sunday at the L. Parrish home. Mr. and Mrs. George Vogel are visiting in Omaha for two weeks. The Pinochle club met with Cora Campbell Wednesday for a 1 o'clock luncheon. Prizes went to Mrs. George Vogel first, Mrs. Stella Fosberg, second. Mrs. Cora Campbell, low. Mrs. Glen Thiessen. traveling. Next meet ing will be with Stella Fosberg. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Parrish and family called Saturday afternoon at the Herman Furr home. The 4-H boys and girls met Sunday afternoon with Jamie and Janice Dill. Little Robbie Lackey has been visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thiessen, since Monday. Mr. and Airs. Wallace Barney and Barbara of Lincoln, visited Sunday at the Glen Thiessen home. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lackey are parents of a son, born Mon day, January 3rd. Mrs. Lackey is the former Donna Thiessen. This is their second child. Mr. and Mrs. Vyrl Livers spent Thursday in Lincoln, where Mr. Livers' brother, Dallas, was op erated on. They also spent Sat urday night and Sunday with him. Mr. and Mrs. Lacey McDonald received word that they have another grandson born on De cember 31st. This makes Mr. and Mrs. John McDonald two boys. Mr. and Mrs. William Zable spent Sunday in Omaha visiting their son and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Noell and family, formerly of Nehawka, have moved in the property for merly owned by Mrs. Utt. Mr. and Mrs. Finnegan and family of near Manley, are mov ing into the property known as the Grandma Rikli farm. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Paul have as their house guest, Mr. Paul"s aunt, formerly of Ceresco. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Paul spent Tuesday in Lincoln. The Murdock postoffice is taking on the new look, which is a great improvement. The Ladies Aid met at the home of Mrs. Elsa Hornbeck on Thursday afternoon with a good attendance. Mrs. Hazel Hemke, Mrs. Alvin Bornemeier and Miss Viola Everett were the co-hostesses. Miss Viola Everett was a Sun day dinner guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Mills. A card party will be held at the Town Hall on Thursday evening, January 20th. Every one invited to attend. On last Thursday evening, Mr. unci Mrs. Frank Rosenow enter tained Mr. and Mrs. Pete Len hattl, Mrs. Nellie Krunkow, Mrs. Hannah Stock and Paul mid Miss Norma Bornemeier for supper. .
