Magician to Show at High School Like music, magirians are classified into two types: the long haired variety and the mod ern or popular kind. Roy Mayer is definitely not the long-haired type. Mr. Mayer, who is to appear at Plattsmouth high school Fri day, October 15, 1948 at 1:00 p.m. is an accomplished magician, known in magic circles for 25 years as an authority on modern magic. He brings to his audience new magic and smart comedy. His presentation of mystery af ter mystery holds the audience spell-bound and his refreshing style of hokus-pokus is unsur passed. Mr. Mayer has a per sonality all his own. His pro grams are unique, novel, whole some, full of life and action. Mr. Mayer became a member of the Society of American Ma gicians in the year 1925 and is a past president of the St. Louis Assembly of that organization. He taught magic, g-iving lessons to students in all walks of life. and bring with him a wealth of platform experience., including stage, schools and television. C. Hudson, the latter a daughter. Mrs. Judson, a former resident of this city, is enjoying meeting a number of the old friends in the community. Mrs. Judson is enroute to Pennsylvania where she is to visit another daughter and fam ily. She is being accompanied to the east by a granddaughter who has been visiting on the west coast. Michigan Visitors in Plattsmouth Mr. and Mrs. George Goebel, of Bay City, Mich., have been visitors in this city for the past few days at the home of Mrs. Goebel's parents, R. H. Patton and family. Mrs. Goebel is the former Gladys Patton of this city. The visitors are returning east after a short visit at Denver with Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Patton and enjoying visiting at the various places of interest in that part of the west. cf the participants. John has been transferred to Hartington, Nebraska, where he will be supervisor in that area for the Consumers in the north ern part of the state. Canon George St. George Ty ner, rector of the St. Luke's Episcopal church, was here Fri day to look after work in the parish and visiting with the church officers.
