Lorcne Schacht gave her j first sermon at the Methodist ! church on Sunday morning to an i attention audience. She remained i in town, until Wednesday to at tend the WSCS study g-roup meet ing on Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Ted Hall and the church board session on Tuesday night. In the meantime she made calls in town. On Saturday morning, June 19, at 9:30 a. m. Miss Ruth Fitch be came the bride of Cecil Stilge bouer at the First Christian church in Omaha," the pasor Rev. Mr. Cole, performing the cere mony. The wedding party par took of a hotel cafe breakfast. After their return from the wedding trip they will be at home in Omaha, where the groom is employed in the Live Stock National Bank. The bride is a graduate of the Elmwood School and she abo had business train ing. She worked for the govern ment for thirteen years as secre tary of the public roads depart ment. She served in Omaha, Kansas City and Topeka. AIR FORCE HAS NEW PLANE FOR SEA RESCUE WORK. Washington W-R The Air Force is planning to equip its air-sea rescue groups with a new high-speed amphibious plane. It has ordered 32 Grumman SA-16A search and amphibious planes. They will replace gradu ally the old twin engine OA-10, prototype of the Navy PB-Y, known as the Cataiiha. - The Grumman is a high wing plane with two Wright 1,425 horsepower engines. It carries a crew of three. The cruising speed is rated at 225 miles per hour, with a maximum speed of 275 mph. Its predecessor travel about 90 miles per hour. The Grumman amphibian can carry 14 passengers or 16 litter patients or 4,100 pounds of cargo. Its range is from 600 miles to 4,000 miles, depending on load and take-off conditions. Mr. and Mrs. Don Miller arid baby, Gregory, of Boston, 'Mass., spent the past week at the. Buck Rogers home. The Millers are enroute to San Francisco, Calif, to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Mumm and son, of Hobbs, New Mexico, are in the city for a visit at the home of Mrs. F. H. Mumm, moth er of Ira. They will be here for j a short time to visit with the inends. Al Huebner Wins Trip to Minnesota Al Huebnef, manager of the Phillips 466" service station in this city left today (Monday) on a weeks vacation in the lake country of Minnesota with all expenses paid. The trip was the reward from the Phillips company for his sales at the station where he has earned a place among the men making the best sales record in the state. He will join a party of fifteen of the dealers in this part of the west, at Gull Lake, Minnesota, near Brainard, one of the popular resort centers of the north. They will stop at Kansas City, Mnsouri, with Mrs. Emma Nims and fami ly, later going to Sedalia, Mis souri, where they will visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brinkman and Mr. and Mrs. Vin cent Slatinsky. The ladies are sisters of Mrs. Pitz. . They accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Oscar White of Omaha, who are motoring to the Ozarks of Arkansas for a short vacation on the journey.
