A banquet was served by the Rcbckah ladies after which Harry Linder acted as toastmas ter, with the theme word as Life and the following responses were given: Live, by George Wieck of Nehawka; Ideals, by C. Dick Apt sang "The Old Rugged Cross,' and the closing number was a talk by Jessie Bragg ct Raymond, returned missionary from India. She reports a trend toward Christian ideals there and here. A very enjoyable time was had. The music students did well at the contest held at Weeping Water for this district. Superior ratings were granted the girls Sextette, Dale Hall, .baritone hern, the Boys' Glee Club and Marline Eidenmille'', pi: .no. Ex cellent rank went to Girls Trio, Lavina Oehllerking. piano, Girls' Glee Club, the solos by Joan Backemcyer, Bernita Irons, and Irene Kunz, Ramona Jones' solo was good. Rev. J. L. Jockens suffered a stroke f.ftcr two heart attacks, at his home here on Saturday. Mrs. Joyce of Bonesteel, South Dakota, is spending this week here with her sister, Mrs. Mint Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Eng-:es have moved into the Sterner property. He is taking up work at his fathers lumber yard, the Englcs Lumber Co.
