Mapel invited neighbors : and friends jn as a surprise on their 53rd wedding anniversary, Wednesday, March 3d. They ' served individual yellow ice creams witn tne number o.i on them and cake and coffee. Their children gave them a very nice floor lamp. Numerous other articles were received by the bride and groom. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Mapel, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ward, of Lin coln, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ward, cf Weeping Water. Yel low tapers burned on the table, which was covered with a hand crocheted cover made by Mrs. Mapel. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jacobsen, and Merna, visited his grandmo ther, Mrs. Sophia Bohlman, last Monday. Mr. and-Mrs. Jacobsen were married February 22 and are returning from a trip to the Ozarks. Friends and relatives received word this week that Ralph Gra ham of Lincoln, had suffered a slight stroke while down town Tuesday. He was taken to the General hospital in that city. Mrs. Dena Ruge and Francis visited in Weening Water last j Thursday. Mrs. Henry Dankeff ! was assisting at the switchboard for Francis. The Lenten service was post poned Friday veening on account of the storm.
