On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Don ald Hollenbeck served a birthday dinner in honor of his father, Ernest Holenbeck, the other guests being his mother, and his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hollenbeck. After his teaching of a Sunday school class on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Cook drove to Lyons, Nebr., to see his father, who is in poor health at this time. The district C tournament closed Saturday night when tro phies were presented to the win ners, Avoca being first, Murdock second and Elmwood third. Roll J. Miller has entered the Biyan Memorial hospital for treatment and Mint Wood has Sam Mansfield spent Thursday night with Frank McRcynolds. This place was recently vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hurst, who moved to Chicago, where both will be employed. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Fleischman are keeping their child for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pool and little George have welcomed a new member into their family, a little daughter, who was born at Lincoln. She has been named Linda. Sunday was an important day for the members of the Christian Endeavor society of the Christian church. They met at the church at 3 o'clock in the afternoon when they had devotional services led by Maxine Schlanker and election of oficers followed. The basement is rcfinished with light green wall paint. Much credit is due to pastor and men of the church for their labor in beau tifying the building interior and maybe the women deserve some praise for their cleaning work and thanks is due the many cash contributors as well. At the Community kensmgton meeting last Thursday the lead er asked the ladies f 3r a new kind of concrete service. Each one is to play boy scout motto keep er and do a kind deed each day, reporting their efforts at the March meeting.
