"State Department Re- : veals Sordid Story cf 1933-1941 ' Soviet Conspiracy With Hitler!" j So screamed the headlines re- j cently. A Department of State t report on "Nazi-Scvict Relations" ! had been released to the Amer- i ican people almost three years j after the Department obtained j the information. j This State Department publi- j -ation is 362 pages long. The pre- j face begins: ! "In 1945 the American and j Eritish armies captured the j archives of the German Fcr- j eign Office which had been ' evacuated from Berlin. Use of the documents for intelligence purposes began immediately." Note cr"efully when these documents came into the hands ;f your government EARLY IN 1945, even before hostilities .vith Germany had ceased. That means the State Department knew all about Stalin's treacher ous World War II conduct months before July 1. 1T-45. 1 vvnat uiu me oioie ajcjjcii liucmu then do to protect America from j being similarly double-crossed? j The Dref ace of the report de- rlares, "Use of the documents for intelligence purposes began IM MEDIATELY." What "intelli gence purposes" actions followed by the State Department? "Authorized r.id to nine coun tries cf Eastern Europe shows United States assistance for ci vilians fcr Russia and eight of her satellities totals one billion, six hundred million dollars" since July i, 1945. Senate Docu ment No. 112, issued December 15, 1947. As I read the foregoing offic ii.1 statement, it indicates to me that the American Government poured $1,600 millions into Rus sian pockets after July 1, 1945. Yet months before July 1, 1945 I the State Department had in its hands decisive evidence of Rus sia's perfidy. I suppose a soldier who know ingly supplied an enemy with war munitions would be execut ed immedia.tely. Docs the State Department performance consti tute a simlar disloyalty? How does it look to you? Can such a performance be explained on the basis of stupidity alone? United Unit rarm Bureau The United Unit of the Farm Bureau met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Heim Tuesday evening, February 17, with 26 members present. The meeting was opened by the President, Ray Mayfield. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The collection for the club treasury was ninety cents. The automobile insurance was mentioned and it is possible for members to join this week and be charter members. A resolution to oppose the lowering cf the support price on parity was drafted. The lowering of the support price had been advocated by a prominent con gressman. The meeting was adjourned and turned over to Mrs. Richard Heim, who introduced Mr. Floyd Erickson.
