He is a former merchant here. Frank and Amy Hoffman wert business visitors in Elmwood the latter part of the week, and they visited friends here at that time. Mrs. Fellows of Lincoln visited f last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Ebeler. John McKay is spending sev eral days at the home of his brother, Neal in Wavcrly, and of nephews there and at Cheney. Mrs. Joe Simpkins came on the bus from Massachusetts for her annual visit at the homes of her daughters, Mrs. Skyle Miller Jr. Mrs. Mendenhall, Mrs. Skelle; and at Gretna, Mrs. Russell Mil fcr. Harry Linder and Roll Mille. attended the big football gam in Indiana on Saturday between the Notre Dame students and the Cornhuskers of Nebraska University. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hall and family, and Dr. Howard Liston and family spent last week visi iing at the home of their broth er, James Liston, in Loveland, Colorado and enjoying an out ing at their camp. Mrs. Fannie Frisbee was a guest at Alvo Sunday with her daughter, Mrs. Paul Coatman and family. Virgil Wood and Mrs. Ruby McMaster of Santa Monica, Cali fornia arrived in their car on Thursday evening to visit at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wood. On Monday tliey all visited Mrs. Wood's sis ter, Mrs. Hardnock, at Bryan Hospital at Lincoln. Wednesday morning they all departed for California where Mr. and Mrs. John Wood will spend the win ter. Mrs. Kroll is in Bryan Memor ial Hospital taking treatments. At four o'clock Sunday, Octo ber 19, at the home of Dr. Tot man, the marriage ceremony of Mr. Fox, father of Mrs. Totman, and Mrs. McGee was performed, Rev. C. H. Lind being the offic iating clergyman. About thirty guests were present. They are making their home at Scotia, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Burrill have returned from their trip to Wyoming during which time her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Fleisch man, stayed on their farm and took care of the work and the children. Lewis Hollenbeck was unable to work for a couple of days last week because of illness, but he is new at his place at the Farm ers Union Oil Co. headquarters.
