The seniors and sophomores, losers in the ticket sale contest lor most season football tickets sold, will entertain the other clarscs and faculty members at a hobo patty from 7:30 to G:30 p. m. in the Central School au ditorium. The big event of the evening will be the selection of the King aid Queen of the Hoboes. These will be chosen by a group of judges who will make their choices on the basis of appear ance. As a spokesman expressed it, the "worst looking ones will be selected." Games and dancing will fol low the crowning of the King and Queen and the evening will end with the serving of light re freshments. Attend Church Meeting in Ashland Twenty-two members of the Fi'st Christian chinch went to As-hland last Thursday to at tend a meeting which featured Church Smiley, a missionary from India. Mr. Smiley has been presented with a Jeep station wagon by the Christian churches of the staate and this was on dis l 'ay. The vehicle will be used by the missionary in his work in the loveign field. He will return to India in November. Plattsmouth had the largest representation at trk- meeting which included delegates from Ashland, Lincoln, LoiiisvilV"; W?nn and several other churches in the area. Mr. Smiley and the church leaders discussed the work of the denomination's Cru sade of the World, a four-year project which is now in its sec ond year. 1 Visiting at the George Farley heme and the H. G. McClusky home last Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones cf Grinnell, la. Vhe visitors were en their way to York to attend a wedding. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Williamson fisited Tuesday evening at Fort Ciook with Captain and Mrs. Jack Whitley. Mr. and Mrs. Richard O'Don jicll were at Peru last weekend to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. It. Spangler Returns From West Virginia Meeting Murray ( Special) Mrs. Ever ett Spangler, a native Cass Coun ty lesident, but now of Omaha, arrived home Sunday evening firm an extended trip through the north and east. She was one of 30 Nebraska women who left Omaha by train on Tuesday, September 30, to attend the Na tional Home Demonstration Council meeting in Jackwons Mills, West Virginia, which was held last week. Among the group from Nebraska was Mrs. Charles Gill, Craig, who is President of of the Nebraska Council. Mrs. Spangler is treasurer of the Country Women's Council of the United States. At Chicago the delegates chartered a bus in which they enjoyed a sightsee ing trip before the date of the meeting in West Virginia. Their tcur took them up into Canada, to the Niagara Falls, to New York City, to Washington, D. C. to Philadelphia, and many more in teresting places. The annual meeting of the As sociated Country Women of the World, was held at Jackwons Mill at the same time. At this micting there were a number of members who had recently re turned from their meeting in Holland. Mrs. Spangler was happily surprised as she reached her destination. to meet Miss Loa Da vis, a former Murray girl, but now located in New York City, who was there for the meeting, and they enjoyed a number of visits together. Miss Pauline Wilson returned this week to her duties at the Hinky Dinky store after a two week vacation. $10.98 - y time peplum Fred Wildricks Observe Golden Wedding Sunday Weeping Water (Special) Another Weeping Water couple lud the pleasure of celebrating their Golden Wedding Annivers ary. Sunday, October 12. They are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wildrick, (Ethel Scott), who were married at Dorchester, in Saline County, Nebraska, 50 years ago. They came directly to Weeping Water to make their home. Soon after arriving here they moved onto the Carl Day farm, where they lived for about 12 years. They have lived in their present home in Weeping Water for the past 35 years. They have five child ren: Frank, of Weeping Water; Earl, of Los- Angeles, Calif.; Eaplh, of Louisville; Leona (Mrs. George Bauers) of Wabash; and George, of Omaha. All were at home Sunday, except Earl, who was unable to be present. They have seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. At noon, a inner was served to the immediate relatives and friends. Those present were Mrs. Wildriek's sister, Mrs. Gilbert Erlttan, of Portland, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Drear and four daugh ters and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Scott and family, all of Friend; Mr. and Mrs.y Fred Tupp, Mr. and Mrs. George Wildrick and family and Freeman Wildrick. all of Om aha, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Ganoway, of Murdock were present during the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Kunz and family, of Avoca; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wildrick and frrrrfly, and Miss Ruby Dennis, of Louisville; Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Wildrick and Mr. and Mis. George Bauers and family, of Wabash, were present at the dinner. During the afternoon a reception was held from two un til four, when old friends of the family called and congratulated the happy couple who received some very lovely gifts as a re minder of the happy occasion. Large wedding cakes were sent by Omar, from Omaha and from Lincoln, and a gift of money was aiso received. rarty on 16th Birthday A surprise birthday party for La Vcrn Halaey was held at his home by his mother and father Monday night, ; October 13th when he celebrated his 16th anniversary. DELEGATE TO GRAND LODGE Representing the local IOOF lodge, Dr. Joe Stibal is in Lin coln this week to attend the 90th annual- session of the grand ledge, meeting at the Lincoln Hotel. Mrs. Covert Is Hostess to The Sunbonnet Club The Sunbonnet Garden club held its regular meeting Thurs day, October 9 at the home of Mrs. LcRoy Covert. Mrs. Louis Hansen, president, opened the meeting with the Lord's Prayer. Members responded to the roll call by giving comments and their impressions of the flower show at the Korn Karnival, em phasizing the interesting flower st ttings and the individual place ments and arrangements. Mrs. Celia Lancaster gave the secretary's and treasurer's re ports. Plans were made for the Christmans party in December. Mrs. Louis Hansen will be the hostess. A gift exchange will be held. The club also voted to have a card shower for Mrs. Ar thur Bruce who-is in the hospital. Mrs. William Brown referred the members to an interesting item in the July issue of the Na tional Geographic magazine. Mrs. Alice Shryock conducted the lesson on "The Habits, Growth and Planting of Peon ies." She also used an additional topic, "The Wax Plant and its Life." Atthe close of the meeting the hostess served lunch, using a Halloween theme for the table ana decorations.
