PAGE FOUR A dinner was given at the church parlors Tuesday evening, August 5. A representative of the F.H.A. gave a very nice talk. This meeting was to lay the ground work to incorporate to build some new houses in town. Mr. and Mrs. John Knabe of Lincoln called on Mrs. True Har mon and Don Sunday. Mr. rnd Mrs. Norton Johnson, Neal Johnson and Greth Garnett spent Sunday at the Harmon home. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Lavy visited in Grand Island one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith and sons returned home Sunday aft er a two-weeks' vacation in Colo rado. Miss Corinne Hallstrom took her grandmother, Mrs. John Hall strom of Plattsmouth home Sat urday. Mrs. Hallstrom had spent a week with her son, Elmer Hall strom and family. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dankleff left Wednesday evening for Cali fornia. They plan to be, gone two weeks visiting places of interest along the way. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stovall, Marian and James of Riverton, Iowa, spent the week-end with Mrs. Stovall's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. II. F. Rutze. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hennings, Merle and Marlene left Sunday for a week's vacation in Colorado. Mrs. Lee Hauptman spent the week in Plattsmouth with her niece and family. Verne Rawalt of Crawford spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Emma Rawalt. Darrold Freeman had as his guests this week his cousins, Dickie Nichols of Weeping Water and Richard Medkiff of Union. The Ernest Norris family and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Carsten are vacationing in Minnesota. Mrs. William Johnson cele brated her birthday Sunday, Au gust 3, and had as her dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ruhgc and Robert, Mr. and Mrs. John Ruhge and children, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hobart and children, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gregg and children of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Noel Golde and children of Pal myra, and Mrs. Maude Ruhge. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home for Mrs. Florine Durham. Mrs. Durham was born May 30, 1856, and died August 7, 1947. Burial in the Avoca cemetery. Rev. W. L. Hadsell conducted the funeral services. Singers were Mrs. J. W. Brendel and Mrs. Emma Rawalt, accompanied by Don Harmon. Pallbearers were James Johnson, Marion Pittman, Elmer Hall strom, Albert Sill. Fred Mar quard and Henry Maseman Funeral services were held Sun day afternoon at the Avoca Con gregational church for Mrs. Ceha Wilhelmina Wulf. Mrs. Wulf was born January 11, 1861, and died August 7, 1947, in the hospital at Nebraska City. Burial was made in the Avoca cemetery. Rev. W. L Hadsell officiated at the fu neral services. The music was by Mrs. Ivan Hansen, accompa nied by Mrs. John Hansen. The pallbearers were grandson. Law rence E. Wulf, Harvy Hillman, Stacey Niday. Henry Hild, Fred Hansen and Clarence Hansen. Mrs. Henry Maseman was op erated on Thursday morning at Bryan Memorial hospital. She came home Monday evening. The Rev. W. L. Hadsell has purchased the hotel building from Henry Heine and plans to make it into apartments.
