Mrs. Eveland had charge of the lesson and a game was conducted by Mrs. Pool. Refresh ments of ice cream with stra bcrries, wafers and coffee were served. This was the last meet ing of the year. Guests of the af ternoon were Mrs. Haines of Ohio, Shirley and Janice Mes sclheiser of Wabash. Mrs. John Hay and Stephen. Mrs. Ed Par riott and Charmaine. Miss Anna McFall, Mrs. Paul Eveland, and Mrs. Plybon. Miss Helen Ann Turner of Cairo, Nebraska and Miss Betty Clements are enjoying a motor trip to the Atlantic coast states. They went by Kansas City, where they visited friends, and Betty saw the priest, Father K'yan, who was a helper in the leper colony work, when they were in the Phillipines. The girls were in Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, and went to New York from there. The W. C. T. U. met on Thurs day afternoon with Mrs. Wade. Miss Minnie Kunz had charge of devotions, subject being "Light." The lesson used was that pre pared by Mrs. Cora Corbeling Sandwiches, pickles, strawber ries and cream and coffee was the menu for the social hour. Mrs. Ruth Manning became a new member and Mrs. Laura Deles Dernier was a guest. Miss Lydia Meunchau received the sad news of the .sudden death of her daughter Mrs. Lewis Smith in California. She and Lillie started for Minnesota on Friday where funeral and burial will take place. On Tuesday afternoon Dick Apt entertained a number of his friends at the home of his grandmother Mrs. Addie Fleisch man. Those present were John and Bobbie Hall. Sharon Phil lips, Marshall and Lynn Whitte more and Duane Preston. Mrs. (Bond Mrs. Glen Kuhn Kenneth Wagner of Winside was a weekend visitor of rela tives at South Bend. Lois Fearthey of Waverly was a Sunday guest at the Glen Kuhn home. One of the little Jones girls received a painful injury to her leg Monday when the tricycle on which she was playing upset run ,ning a piece of the wheel into her leg.
