They ccupy the rental prop erty of Jason Streight. Mr. Jones works at the Louisville pottery. Cora Compbell is ill at her son Russell's home in Manley. j Mr. and Mrs. Tyler Nunn and ! Mr. and Mrs. Willey Cox and family were Sunday dinner guests at the Stanley McFarland home. Mrs. Jimmie Fidler and Maryln were Wednesday evening caller's at the J. L. Carnicle home. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Cordes and Shirley and John Kupke were Omaha visitors Monday. Mothers day dinner guests at the J. C. Carnicle home were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Berger and fam ily of Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. Har vey Frahm and Gary and Larry Carnicle. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Haswell and Artis and girl friends, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Swartz of Lincoln called Supper guests were Mr. and Mrs. Homer Carnicle and Mr. and Mrs. Treanary of Lincoln. In the, evening Mr. and Mrs. Carnicle's son Lloyd called from California. Mrs. Vyril Livers and Keith were Lincoln visitor's last week end. Mr. and "Mrs. Paul Campbell called at the Bernard Dill home Sunday evening. Mrs. Belinda Stander visited Sunday at the Fred Marquardt home. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stubben dick and family visited at the John Stubbendick home Sunday. Madge Jorgensen went to spend the summer at the home of Wil liam Kepler in Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nutzman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hilverd Nutzman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lenord Nutzman and family, visited at the J. L. Nutzman home Sunday. Mrs. Mable Packer of Ashland visited old friends here Saturday night. She was the former Mable Cutter. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gregg of Murray and Mrs. Maude Ruhge were Sunday dinner, guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ruhga and Robert. Ladies Aid society met in the church parlors Thursday night with Mrs. Calvin Corsten and Mrs. Martha Ruhge as hostesses. Mrs. J. H. F. Ruhge led devo tion and read several poems about Mother. It was vott-i that the ladies pay for remodeling the parsonage. It was also vned to have a Mother-Daughter luncheon next regular meeting May 2Z. The Aid and Sunday school will also sponsor a daily vacation bible school. The date is to be decided later. The Avoca school closed last Friday with a picnic dinner in the gymnasium. It was estimated there were over 300 people ser ved. After dinner there was a ball game and a movie. ART TROOP IN HOSPITAL Art Troop was taken Saturday by Caldwell ambulance to Ne , braska City and entered at St. I Mayr's hospital for observation. He will be there several days. Those taking the exams were Dale Cockerill. Marilyn Tyson, Flora Redden, Patty Wil le'rt, Elaine Nickels and Margaret Ritcher. Mrs. James Comstock gave the exams. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jacobs, former residents of Murray, now living in Salt Lake City, Utah, are Hie proud parents of a baby son. The United Society of Chris tian Endeavor met at the Pres byterian church Sunday evening at 7: o'clock with Donna Frans as leader. Margaret Ritcher was seng leader. All young folk are urged to atend these meetings. The next meeting will be at the Christian church May 18, at 7:30 o'clock. Mr. Nellie Long was vsiiting her ton, Joe Long and family, in Nebraska City Sunday. The Sunshine Cooking club met at the home fo Mrs. Fred Drueck er on Thursday, May 8th. Every one was present but Mrs. Cock ereil, assistant leader and Patty Willert, news deporter. Demon strationf were given by Donna Frans and Marilyn Tyson. Mrs. Earl Mrasek, Miss Clara Mrasek and Mrs. Frank Mrasek and Nancy were shopping in Plattsmouth Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Nelson were weekend guests at the home of Mrs. Selma Nelson.
