Creamer accompanied by Mr. and M r s. Harold TittUson of Madison, Calif, arrived Tuesday evening to visit at the home of Mr. Creamer's mother, Mrs. Alice Creamer, in Murray. Here from Washington, D. C. Mrs. Russell Mullen, formerly Violet Freese, of Washignton D. C, arrived Thursday to visit her foster sister, Mrs. Don York and family. Mrs. Mullen will leave Thursday for the west coast, stop ping at Denver, San Francisco, Ox nard and making an extended vis it with her brother in Los Anglees whom she has not seen for twenty four years. She will return by the southern route and stop at San Antonio, McAUen and Harlingen, Texas where she will visit other relatives. Announce Plans For Democratic County Tour j ; Plans for a countywide ' 'Demo cratic caravan which will include Frank Sorrell, candidate foa- gov ernor, Di. Frank Jellen, candi date for congress, and ail I Cass county candidates were . announc ed Monday by Francis M. Casey, county Democratic chairman. The county tour is planned for Wednesday, Oct. 16 and will leave from Plattsmouth at 9:00 a.m. Casey urged all precinct! com mittee members to plan eommun ity meetings to greet the caravan as it swings through the county, The caravan will depart from Plattsmouth promptly at 9:00 a. m., Casey said. The group- will eat their noon meal at Elmwood and will pause for supper at Mur dock. Louisville ...Cedar Creek .Plattsmouth Mrs. Cole Dies Tuesday Morning Mrs. Caroline Cole, age 83, died Tuesday morning at the Bauer apartmets here after a prolong ed illness. One of the pioneer residents of the community, Mxs. Cole had been in failing health '. for more than three years. She suffered ; a stroke on June 30, 1943. Born on March, 19, 1863, at the Cole residence, one half mile south of Mynard, Mrs. Cole has lived all her life in Cass county. She was married on March 27, 1881 to S. Olin Cole, who died on September 17, 1931. Besides a brother Joe Cook, of Plattsmouth, Mrs. Cole leaves four sons and two daughters. They in clude: Earl V., of Brewell, Nebr., Carl R., also of Brewell; Roy O., of Plattsmouth and Sherman W., of Plattsmouth; Mrs. Olive Wiles and Mrs. Opal Wiles, both of Plattsmouth. Other survivors in elude 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Cald well funeral home, with the Rev. Lee Huebert, of Mynard Congre gational Church, in charge. Burial will be in the Horning cemetary. Local Men to Go To Fort Crook For Army Exam Ten Cass county men, including three who have served in the arm ed forces of World War II, are to leave Wednesday morning for Fort Crook where they will take their preinduction physical exam inations for induction into the Army. All of those men going to 'Fort Crook tomorrow have previously taken physical examinations. Sev eral of them had been given ae ferrments while others had been rejected for physical reasons," but may now be elig'ble for service under reduced physical require ments. T- Quota is Seven - i : " The county draft quota for the month. One man was sent for m at seven, and so f arj no inductees have been sent .from here this month. One man was sent for in duction in September. Few new men are becoming el igible for service under the'pres net draft age which is from. 19 to 29 years. Previously the age limits had been from 18 to 26 years of age, and virtually every man in the county between those ages had been examined. Leave by Train The county men are to leave for Fort Crook by train Wednesday morning. In the event that tney pass -their physical examinations and do not receive further defer ments frojn the county selective service board they will be given a minimum of 21 days between their physical examination and day of induction. The three county men who have been in the service and who are (to be reexamined include Vernon Shiffer, of Plattsmouthwho serv ed in the Navy; Ambrose J. Claus, of Plattsmouth, who served in the Navy and Walker S. Williams, of Elmwood, who served in the Army. Miss Schubeck, who graduated from Plattsmouth High School tin 1945, wore a white satin ' gown and carried a bouquet of white roses. Cpl. Roland Hall is the son of the late Capt. John Hall of the U. S. Marine Corps. He has been attached to the 18th Infantry Div ision and 297th Combat Engineer.; He served 27 months overseas and has been in the service for six' years. Fri Diver Will Speak At High School Convocation , Captain Art Hook, famous sub marine diver and deep sea ' ex plorer, will speak at 3:00 r. m. Wednesday at the Plattsm6uth high school auditorium at a spec ial convocation program .for iigh school students. The program will be open to any local persons who wish to attend. The admission! will be 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for students. Captain Hook, who is both a diver and parachutist, will re late some of his experiences with the monsters of the deep. Cole Services To Be Held Thursday Funeral services for Mrs. Car oline Co!e, who passed away at the Bauer apartments, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Stadium Meeting Will Be Tonight Members of the Chamber of Commerce planning committee will meet with the city school board and representatives of the American Legion at 8:'00 p. m. Wednesday night at the offices of the Central Gas and Electric com pany to discuss plans for the con struction of a stadium and im. proved Athletic field" here. The meeting will be open and all local persons who are inter ested in the project are invited to attend. No definite plans have been for mulated, and the meeting tonight will be in the form of a general discussion of possible plans of financing the project and of a general considerations of im provements which might be made at the local field. Local groups have, in the past discussed the possibilities of the construction of a stadium type structure which would give per manent seating facilities for ath letic events and civic actvities. The meeting tonight has been called n order that the varous suggestions may be voiced and a tentative plan drawn up. Rice Boy Returns From Hospital Clyde Rice, son of Mr. and Mrs J. C. Rice, of Weeping Water, has been returned to his hme from the Orthopedic hospital a t Lincoln, wherre he was taken re cently after suffering a mild -attack of polio. He will probably be able to re turn to school next week. Young Rice was taken to the hospital last week when his ill ness was diagno-ed as poUomey litis.
