PACE EIGHT THE JOURNAL. PLATTSMOUTH. NEBRASKA THURSDAY, MAY 9, 1943 Mrs. C. D. Spangler Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wolfarth, Mrs. Dale Wolhfarth and Mrs. Sel ma Nelson were Omaha visitors Friday. ' Dinner sruests at the home of . Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Tutt Sunday were their friends, Mr. end Mrs. Charles Stastka of Nebraska City, former Murray residents. Their son, Eugene Stastka, who has been in the navy about two years, ex pects to be discharged and at home in a couple of weeks. Mrs. Frank Dill entertained the members of the Aid society of the Otterbem church at her home last Wednesday sfternoon. Edna Marie Marler has had as her guests some friends. They were Mis Jenny Hauck of Port land, Ore., formerly of Crete, and FUR COAT STORAGE Fully Insured Ladies Toggery Raymond Gilsdorf of Inglewood, Calif. After a few days visit at her home she accompanied them to Henry, S. D., where they are spending sometime visiting with relatives. Mrs. Ralph Sullivan, Mrs. Tom er Headley, Mrs. Arthur Hansen and Miss Margaret Moore were visiting and shopping in Nebras ka City Thursday. Mrs. Anna Rhoden was visiting at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.' Aleck Rhoden, in Plattsmouth Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Rhoden recently celebrated her birthday anniver sary, and to help her remember the day she was presented a Bible which is printed in large type which will enable her to read since her eyes ar not as good as they were. The Bible was a gift from the "Women's Bible class of the United Presbyterean Church of which Mrs. Rhoden is a member. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cole of Brule arrived in Murray Fridav after noon for a visit at the Spangler home. On Saturdav they drove on to Plattsmouth and vicinity where they visited Sunday with Mr. Cole's mother and other relatives, leaving Monday for their home in the west Mrs. Cole and Mrs. Spangler are sisters. Mrs. John Frans was hostess to her pinochle club Thursday even ing. As cne member was absent. Jack played for her and thought it great sport. George Thompson and family have moved into the property which they recently purchased CALDWELL FUNERAL HOME 702 Ave. B Ambulance Service Phone 15 and are now residents of Murray again, after living on the farm the past year. ? Mrs. Fred Hild was one of many who was present at the mother daughter "banquet Sunday evening at the Christ Lutheran church near Louisville, Mrs. Henry H$d went as her daughter. They had an enoyable evening and a won derful dinner. Mrs. Gus Hansen and her little grand son, Bryce Hansen spent Thursday at the home of her sis ter, Mrs. Fred Hild. ; Mrs. Alice Waggner, accompan ied by her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Wagner, and young son, Stevie, departed Monday morning for their home in Thorntown Ind., after a visit of several days with her mother. Mrs. Alice Creamer. Guests of Mrs. Alameda Flem ing Sunday for dinner and the day were her brother-in-law, Torrance Fleming, and Mrs. Fleming of Los Angeles and their son Lyal Flem ing and family of Weeping Water. Mr. and Mrs. Parr Young have returned from a visit of a few days with their daughter, Mrs. Towner Livingston, and family at Jefferson, Iowa. Mrs. Jane Dill is recuperating nicely at home since her long hos pitalization at the Nebraska City hospital. Dr. Richard Brendle has now opened his office on Main street in Platsmouth and is ready to take up his practice. Until living quarters are available he and Mrs. Brendel will continue to make their home in Murray with his mother, Mrs. Margaret Brendel. Quite a large delegation of in terested farmers from this local ity joined the caravan which vis ited the cattle yards in eastern Cass county Thursday. E. S . Tutt reports the comple tion of his job as assessor of West Rock Bluffs precinct. He finished last Saturday. Murray is fortunate in having a barber in town again after so long a time without one. The new bar ber is Paul Schantell and the shop is in the brick buildin gon upper Main street. Mrs. Rachel Faris was visiting her daughter, Mrs. George Rieke; and family near Union Saturday and upon return home she was accompanied by Phyllis R i e k e, who spent the night with her grandmother. Mrs. Ray Creamer is a surgery patient at the Methodist hospital in Omaha. Mrs. Rose Marie Bradford of Lincoln is a guest of her parents Mr.- and Mrs. Glenn Thompson this week.
