The all-white two-car train, equipped with a diesel-poweivd unit on each end, can carry 152 j ambulatory cases as well as 30' stretcher patients piled into its J triple-tiered bunks. It will operate! throughout Seventh Army area, the western part of the American! occupational zone, bringing pa tients in from outlying areas to the more conplete and "modern hospital facilities of the Frank furt region. Patients earmarked for shipment to the States are also faiWrpil in this area and thei will speed up this streamliner work. The cars have been rebuilt from German stock which formerly roll ed on a special luxury passenger run between Berlin and Munich. Capable of 100 m.p.h. under most favorable conditions, it has aver aged as high as 55 m.p.h. on long trial runs over the crippled Ger man roadbeds.
