Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Martin re turned home Sunday from a weeks visit at Attica, Indiana, where they visited relatives of Mr. Mar tins. They were accompanied on the trip by Mr. and Mrs. Lester Carey, of Kansas City, who spent a week at the Martin home before they went east. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Philpot went to Omaha Thursday, when Mr. Philpot attended the funeral ser vices for Ben Roth, and Mrs. Phil pot went on to Council Bluffs to visit her daughter, Mrs. Grant Dietdering. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Philpot spent Friday afternoon at Ne hawka visiting at the home of Mrs. Ann Fulton, and with Mrs. Ful ton's sister, Mrs. Olive Lemon, of Topeka, who was visiting at the Fulton home. the Cass county district directors! were present. They are Lester Wagoner, Louisville ; Herman S c h w e p p e, Wabash ; William Bloom, South Bend; Henry Tool, Murdock and Ezra Neben, Mur dock. Ivan Rector is at the Veterans hospital in Llincol recovering from injuries resulting from an automobile collision between his car and that of Bill Mockenhaupt, of Wabash, last Friday evening near the Thorwald Hansen home, north of town. Latest reports are that he is recovering. Mrs. Helen Clark left this week for Bradenton, Florida, where she will spend the remainder of the winter. The Morning Glory Blue Birds celebrated the birthdays of two of two of their members, Friday af ternoon at the home of their lead er, Mrs. Richmond Hobson. The two members whose birthdays were honored were Shirley Dill and Virginia Elliot. Mrs. Arthur Jones has been con fined to her home by illness dur ing the past week. Potato Crop Heavy CHEYENNE, Wyo., (U.P)-One of the largest potato yields on record in Wyoming is reported for 1945 by George Knutson, federal agri cultural statistician. Almost all of the crop was harvested without loss from frost. Preliminary esti mate of the yield is 175 bushels per acre, compared with 155 bush els a year ago, and a 10-year aver age of 113 bushels per acre.
