E. Lindstrom, county agent re ; vealed this week. I Major 'problems the county ag-j ' ricultr.ral and home demonstra tion agent propose to deal with in Fillmore county during 1946 are: j A balanced farm and home pro-' !i am with emphasis placed on ed jucational programs, on conserva i tion, and the use of farm and home accounts and improved live i stack. j Farmstead and home improve ment is another problem to be i approached. To accomplish this j goal, plans have been made for : meetings on farm buildings and J machinery repair, kitchen clin I ics, refinishing of floors and fur niture, construction ot septic tanks and wiring and selection of lighting fixtures for rural elec trification. Nutrition and health with em phasis on clean and safe milk supply are also to be stressed. The Rural Youth program is to be strengthened. Plans are being made to organize an older rural youth iroup. The goal has also been set for an increased mem bership in 4-II dubs. Put up Cranberry Jelly for Spec ial Occasion Though traditional with tur key, cranberries are good com pany with any kind of poultry at any meal, says LaVerne Shafer, Cass county home demonstration' agent. Chicken and turkey sup plies promise to be large for some time to come, so the house wife may be wise who puts up a few extra glasses of cranberry jelly when she makes her batch for the holiday season. Home jelly-makers often do not know that cranberry jelly, put even though it is made with a smaller pv portion of sugar and with shorter cook ing than most summer fruit jel lies. It i easier to make because it jell so raedly. To make this jelly, cook ore quart (or one pound) of cran berries and one and one-half cup. of water rapidly in saucepan a- ! bout Id minutes or until the ber ries are soft. Strain through a fine sieve, add two cups of sugar stir and cook about three minu tes, or until the juice gives the two-drop jelly test from a spoon four into hot ciean glasses and let stand until cool an.l "set Vjici Mini w r a 1 1 in. ,-i(ive jji a cool, dry. dark place CHRISTMAS TREES 50c to 1.50 live and Sturdy, kept in cool place Imitation of the real thing .
