Weeping Water Congregational church was organized in the year of lhOO at the log cabin of Will iam Reed. Weeping Water's fa'-t mill owner and also a member f Cue territorial legislature. Mctt- i irig were held in private homes and for awhile in a grove, dutitig : the I'ir.-t ten yeais. The first stone parsonage was built in 1S07. This building is now owned by Miss Clari Fate i and is used as a piivate residence. In 1 87 I the first church va- dedi- rated. Later this building: was u-e ! . as i bap 1 and class i-ooti for the ; Weeping Water Academy and af jter the closing- of the Academy, 1 it was turned over to the city for i use as a city library building.
