Contest The forty -firrt annual meeting of the County Assessor's Association of Nebraska, closed their sessions at the Hotel Lincoln on Friday after noon with the election of officers. Mrs. Alameda Fleming departed for San Bernardino, California to spend the remainder of the crfd weather with friends. She was taken to Omaha to take the train by Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Carper. . Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Finney have returned to their farm home hei'e after a few nnonths at Humbolt. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rice have moved onto the farm of Charlie Read which was recently vacated by the Vearl Smith family, and will farm the place this year. Dr. and Mrs. G. H. On Saturday, February 3rd, ail; candidates were invited to compete in writing an essay on an unreveal ed subject. Miss Meisinger wrote an essay on the question of "What Are the Obligations of American Citizenship.'' After being formally confirmed as the district winner. Miss Meisinger wrote her essay on the state ques tion, "How May Youth Guidance Contribute to the Future America". It has geen submitted to the con test chairman of the D. A. R. ing figure I Visitors Spend Time in Lincoln Lt. Commander James M. Robert son, with Mrs. Robertson and their daughter, Kathleen, are spending the last few days at Lincoln. They are guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Murphey and family. Mrs. Murphey is a sister of Lt. Command er Robertson. The visitors are returning to Plattsmouth Saturday for a further visit here with Mrs. W. A. Robertson and other relatives. CHAS. t.
