' Mrs. Arthur Wolph was a Lincoln visitor Friday and visited Mrs. Mol- lie MagneyV who is recovering trom an illness and a hospital confine ment. -: ; ' Mrs. Helen Peterson' and son, Maurice of Nebraska City spent the week end with the former's daugh ter, -Mrs. Kent Balfour and family Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ross enter-J of their daughter, Mr tained a group -of neighbors and 'John Ketelhut. Bud, son of Mr. and Mrs.-Will Jor gensen, enlisted in the navy over relatives at a Thanksgiving supper. Mrs. Nelson Berger entertained the Nehawka Woman's Club at her lovely country home Friday after noon. The lesson of the day, "Wo men of the Bible," was presented by two members; Mrs. Henry Ross gave' those of the New Testament and Imo Heebner these f the Old Testa ment. Many strange and interesting stories were related to the group. Evelyn Wolph was in charge of the devotional hour and gave a lesson from the Sunday School readings printed in the Plattsmouth Journal weekly. Mrs. Berger was-assisted in serving delicious refreshments by Mrs. John Ketelhut and Mrs. Omer Schlichtemeier, co-hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hogue and Roland were Sunday dinner guests five years ago, was serving at Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941, served for several months in the Aleutians and Alaska. He has more than earned the period of shore duty which he will now have in California. Sheldon for an evening dinner on Thanksgiving. Out-of-town guests were from Weeping Water and Avoca. Mrs. Gertrude Carper was host to a family group at her home on Nov. SOth. Mrs. Albert Murdoch and sons of Lincoln spent their Thanksgiving va cation with Rev. Murdoch's relatives at Nehawka. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dodson en tertained the family at a turkey dinner Thanksgiving. Mrs. Evelyn ."Sheldon has return ed to her home in California after a visit .with relatives here and. in Lincoln. - - Mrs. John Lloyd is a house guest of her daughter, Mrs. Lora Keick at Lincoln Mrs. Kekk was absefit ff or a few days on business. CpL Lawrence Chappelle trans ferred from Long Island, N. Y. to the Lincoln air base, spent three days with his mother, Mrs. Chris tina Chappelle, enroute. Chaplain Albert Murdoch has ar rived safely in England. Sgt. . John Moritz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Moritz has also arrived in England recently. Albert Anderson, Troy Murdoch and Guy Murdoch are families to rejoice over recently obtaining elec tric lights on their farms. Guests of Mrs Clarence Embury and children over the week-end were her mother, Mrs. R. J. Hunt and her sister, Mrs. Ernest Cecil from End ers, Nebr. They returned home Mon day. Mrs. Embury accompanied them as far as Lincoln and spent the day shopping. Alfred Alford, recent guest of his sister, Mrs. Lena Dodson, is un der the doctor's care and is at the Rest Haven home in Weeping Water. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Switzer were Thanksgiving day guests at the home rvf .their son. Mr. and Mrs. Wildon Switzer and children. " Mr. and Mrs. Herman Scharp were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Witte and children near Auburn !
