Kuppinger is stationed 'at Camp Chaffee, near Fort Smith, Ark. Mrs. Kuppinger was the former Cecile Mitchell, and made her home with Mr. and Mrs. M. N. Tucker. Cpl. Donald A. Nelson, was home with his mother, Mrs. Selma Xelaon, from Wednesday until Monday. Ho Was being transferred from Camp Iienning, Ga., to Cam? Robinson, Ark. Pvt. and Mrs. Wiliard Nelson, from the Air Base at Geneva, Neb., with his mother, Mrs. Selma Nelson, are with Mrs. Nelson's relatives in Kirksville, Mo., for a weeks fur lougfi. Wallace Nelson, Slc, nerves en the Pacific waters from the Seattle, Wash., harbor. Mrs. Nelson is also at Seattle. Sgt. Oscar Brandt, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Brandt, a welder at. a fighter station in England, has been discharged from the hospital, suffering a thioat infection. CPO Emil Nixon, of the navy, has completed his special gunnery scliooLr ing at the Groat Lakes Naval Train ing Base and recently enjoyed a seven day leave. He visited relatives at Huntington. Va., and had a visit with a former Nehawkan, Mr. and Mrs. Elba Ingwerson end family. Sgt. Robert A. Pollard, medical division, at the Williams Air Bus Chandler, Ariz., is with his parents,' Mr. and Mrs. Oren Pollard for an 1S day furlough. He immediately went into the corn field to assist with the harvest. Another son, Pfc. Arthur Pollard, in New Guinea, writes that he has been permitted a furlough and awaiis transportation methods. (U.R) Prime Minister Winston Churchill said to- the leaders I of America, Britain and Russia met again, and added that the prospects for this conference have been "vastly improved" by- the re-election of President Roosevelt. Churchill said another meeting of Mr. 'rRostevelt pretnifj-Josef Stalin and himself "might easily abridge the sufferings of mankind and stop the fearful "prpcpssV of destruction which is now ravaging the earth." The Prime Minister, in a jovial and expansive mood, spoke at a mansion house luncheon for the new Lord Mayor t of -London, Sir -Frank Alexander. ' s . "I feel free to express, on personal grounds, the great joy it givs me to know that my wartime and intimate co-operation with President Roose velt will be continued In the months that lie before us," Churchill said. "I am sure that everybody will be moved by the sportsmanlike manner in which Governor Dewey, in the moment of his defeat, offered his congratulations to his opponent and pledged his party to work' whole heartedly for the world cause." He praised the way the United States election was conducted with out disturbing Anglo - American friendship, and lauded both parties for holding the allied interest "high above the dust cf partisanship." "America," he said," has given an example to the world of how democratic institutions can be work ed with utmost vigor and freedom without injury to the permanent in terests of the state."
