Troop 367 Hallowe'en Party roast, NEHAWKA Bessie Murdoch is a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Anderson of Falls City this week. Roger Harshnian spent the week end in Lincoln, a guest of his mother and aunt. Mrs. Katie Kime entertained the United Brethern Aid society at her home Wednesday. The ladies enjoyed an all day meeting, a covered dish luncheon at noon, and a day of quilting. Alice Kruger spent the first of the week as a guest of her cousin, Lavonda Murdoch, who celebrated her birthday Saturday. Mrs. Emma Chriswisser was an overnight guest of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Hansen, Saturday night. She thoroughly enjoyed the time there, as this is the farm on which she lived for many years prior to moving to Nehawka. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kruger and Helen Jane of Plattsmouth and Mrs. Sarah Kruger of Lincoln were Sun day guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Kruger. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Pollard and children from the Nebraska Ord nance plant were Sunday guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Pollard. Sgt. Verner E. Lundberg, recent ly from the southwest Pacific, was a guest of James Sturm at the Univer sity of Nebraska over the week end, and enjoyed the state football game Saturday. Mrs. Claude O'Connor entertained the Otterbein Aid society Thursday afternoon. Several guests were pres ent. The time was spent in quilting. Mrs. Thelma Taylor and Mrs. Elmer Fitch of Bennet, Colo., were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Fitch and Josephine; they then went to Omaha for a visit before return ing home.. Sgt. Fitch serves over seas. Mrs. Fitch is employed at Bennet. Mrs. Frank Linder, Sic Alva Lind er, Boyd Linder and Mrs. Frank Hobscheidt made a. trip to Topeka, Kansas, last Wednesday for a visit with Lt. Opal Linder, an army nurse there. Alva left Thursday to return to the Great Lakes Naval Base. Johnny and Richard Franz of Un ion were guests of ' the William Kruger family, while Supt. and Mrs. Franz attendedthe Teachers Conven tion in Omaha. Supt. and Mrs. G. W. Weik and Cheryl were week-end guests of rela tives at Meadow Grove and Neliegh, Nebr. Pfc. Dewey Arnold Yearsley re turned to Camp Shelby, Miss., last Thursday after a two weeks furlough with friend3 here and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Yearsley at Dun bar. A very delicious luncheon was served by Mrs. Hull and Mrs. Warga The meeting adjourned to meet at the home of Mrs. Georgie Creamer on October 10th with Mrs. Alma Yard ley as the associate hostess. At the October 10th meeting there were twelve members present and five visitors to join in the pleasan afternoon. The song of the afternoon was "Sweet Peace" and was follow ed by the Lord's Prayer. A committee was appointed for a bazaar and bake sale. The meeting was then turned over to Mrs. Merle WTheeler, enter tainment leader, who had planned very nice program and in this sever al prizes were awarded. Mrs. Orvil Snodgrass and Mrs. Bert Keilson Joined our club. Flower plants and seeds were exchanged. Mrs. Yardley and Mrs. Creamer served a very de licious lunch that was greatly en joyed. Our next meeting will be the 14th, at the home of Mrs. Homer Shrader with Mrs. Velma Rae as the associate .hostess. Members are urged to bring something for the bazaar. Mrs. Cook has been there for the past year as her health has been very feeble and made necessary her constant care. There is surviving two brothers, Joseph Hawksworth of Omaha and David Hawksworth of Birmingham, Michigan. The body was brought here to the Caldwell funeral home at Seventh and Oak streets to await the arrival of the brothers to make the funeral arrangements.
