Present H. C. Backemeyer, S. T. Gilmour and G. W. Hart, County Commissioners, and Geo. R. Sayles, County Clerk. Absent County Assessor W. H. Puis. f The following business was transacted in regular form: County Assessor W. H. Puis had returned the total assessed valuation of $35,303,455 of the county for the year 1944. The State Levy for 1944 was certified to the. Board at 2.54 mills. The County Board made a Levy of .30 mills for the expense of Cass County patients in State Insane Hospitals, making the Total State Levy 2.84 mills. ' , 1944 County Levies were made as follows: General Fund, 1.10 mills; Bridge Fund, .76 mills; Emergency Bridge Fund. .20 mills; Road Fund, including Drag Fund, 1.40 mills; Poor Relief Fund, .06 mills; Soldiers Relief Fund, .01 mills; Mothers Pension Fund, .03 mills. Total County Levy 3.56 mills, making the Total State and County Levy 6.40 mills. A Levy of $3.00 per capita was made for Old Age Assistance Fund. A Levy of 25 per $100 for Class "A" and 80 per $100 for Class "B" was made for the Intangible Tax. A Levy of 10 per stand was made for the Bee Tax. The County Superintendent certified a Levy of 1.2 mills for High School Tuition Tax, which was approved by the Board.
