Carter, Former Resident Here Horizon Club Suffers Heart Attack at Home in Omaha Tuesday Evening; and Dies at Once James Howard Carter, 5:?. former resident of Flattsmcut n, died last night at th'! family home at 422f Darker Ave, Omaha, as the result cf a sudden heart att.a- k. Mr. Carter with his family had returned from a picnic rarty last ivniine shortly after 11 o'clock and remarked to Mrs Carter that he thought li.1 voiild go to the kitchen and secure some soda and a few moments later was lifeless on th? floor cf the kitchen, death coming :.s the result of a sudden heart at tack. The death came as a very great shock lo Mrs. Carter and their daughter. Iw-verly. as it was just five weeks to a clay thai L. B. Mr. Carter was a resident here for a number of years and while here was au employe of the Iova Nebrasl a Lir;ht & Power Co., later ginp to Omaha where he entered Ihe employ of the Nebraska Power Co., being employed there at tht time of his death. Tie was married to Miss Helen lgenberger. daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Egenberser. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ward Egen be; ger were in Omaha last niuht to be with Mrs. Carter and the dau ghter in their sorrow. The Jay Jay Horizon club met Tuesday at the home of l'ortlhy Cap 111. Since our president, Donna. Mei sinerer, was ab.-cnt, the vice-president Elizabeth D:ivis, presided. Because two of our members. Marjorie Devoe and Lois Ann Cchn, have moved away, we decided to ask some other juris to join. Those asked are Mary Lou Pecker, Jean Lloyd, and Joan Gradoville. Mary Libershal, Mari anne YVeieukamp and Claudeen Kel ler were appointed as a committee to initiate them. V.'e decided to have a beach party at Merrit's Beach next Monday. He is feeling fine and is now v.eigl ing over 200 pounds. Blue Devil Baby Beef Club On June Ifth. the Blue Devil Raby Beef club met at. the home of Richard Tritsch. Upon arrival of all the members we entered the barn where we judg ed Richard's calves. We wre as sisted in the judging by Richard O. Cole, our leader, and Mr. Waldo, the county extension agent. After finishing judgig we wer-2 called iiisi'le ioi the leguiar order of business. "W e v, ere given a snort test on the feeding and care of our calves after which Mi. Wabh gave us a very fine demonstration on grub control. Our cheer leader lead us in some cheers and we sang a few of our favorite songs. One of our members Hernice Halmes, was also celebrating her birthday. At an appropriate! hour Mrs. 1 ritsch served delicious refresh ments.
