Mom, ior all the fine things you taught us . . . when we were kids. Thanks, most of all. for teaching us to love and appreciate freedom . . . the American brand of freedom . . . the kind of freedom that is written in a man's heart. It wasn't easy to give up our jobs, and go away. Our Jobs stood for the principle that every fellow has a chance to pick out his own life work, to have his own little business, or to be president some day of the company for which he works. As you know. Mom, our school books called it "Free Enterprise." But whatever you call it it's good. It's one of the things we are fighting for right now. When we return with" the Victory, we still want to have freedom of opportunity, to build security for our families cs our Dads did before us. Mom, you've always looked after us. You can help us now by seeing that the American brand of freedom you taught us to love so much is kept for us until we get back. . Extract from a letter from a soldier. WHAT IS imm BY FREE ENTERPRISE No believer in American Free Enterprise, no busi ness or professional man opposed to government in business, can afford to sit idly by when any busi ness or industry is endangered. No man's business or profession is safe, nor exempt, from this program of political control. Every man with a job should be on guard. Today the "politicians-in-business" program touches the electric business. Tomorrow it may be the food business or any other. Who know who is next?
