Minor, superintendent and manager of the Kankakee Water company, who has spent the past week here, has charge of one of the finest plants in the smaller towns of Illinois. When taking over the charge of the plant operation five years ago, Mr. Minor found the plant pumping 1,000,000 gallons a day and at this time they are pumping 4,500,000. The plant has been en larged by the erection of two addi tional standpipes for water storage. They have just completed the erec tion of a large water elearifier that will supplement those already in op- Home for Visit Raymond Iiaroid, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harold of this city, arriv ed home Saturday afternoon from several months spent at St. Louis and St. Joseph, Missouri. At St. Louis he was receiving training for the maritime service which he expects to enter soon. Owing to an affected nerve in one eye he was given a medical discharge to return home and will undergo treatment and expects to report for another test after the first of the year. He was visiting with his sister at St. Joseph for the past few weeks.
