They had a picnic dinner in the park and dur ing the afternoon visited the bath ing beach. John Cakemeier of Murdoek was in Murray on Monday and took Wil iuin Sporer with him to Plattsmouth to look l iter some business matters. Rev. j. W. Taenzler, pastor of the Murray Christian church, with Louis Rogers, tolosist, were at Union Sun day for the outdoor services. Mr. Rogers g.ave as his number, "Cal vary." M. G. Churchill was visiting in Dunbar on last Friday looking al ter soniv business. Chester Cox, of Union, employed on the larni of George A. Stites, ! was a business visitor in Murray ou Mond Mrs. Lrville Hathaway of Union was in Murray looking alter the pur chase of material for a chicken house. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Shrader of South Omaha, were guests for the day at the home of Mr. and Mis. George E. Niekles. Earl Merritt has been painting at the home of George E. Niekles and improving the looks of the place. Declines Schooling Clark Jarvis, sou of Mrs. Clara Frans, who is now stationed at San Francisco, is repofted to have been offered a special course of study at West Point, but declned as this would be too long after the war. Scouts Visit Nebraska City The Roy Scout troop ot Murray, were in Nebraska City to attend a court of honor, being accompanied by their scoutmaster, Olin Morris. Mr. Morris has taken a great inter est in the scout work. Visits Trinity Church Dr. and Airs. R. W. Tyson and daughter, Marilyn, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Erubacher and Beverly Ann, P tended services at Christ Trinity church near Murdock, Sunday. Visit With Daughter . Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Stewart, form erly with the Murray Presbyterian church, now residing in eastern Iowa, near Davenport, are in Murray and spending two weeks at the home of their dauhtger and family, Mrs. Charles II. Boedekev. Has Fine Corn Crop Charles Meade has been very busy with the cultivation of his corn and from the indications it will make a very fine crop. Charles Sporer was on the Omaha market this week with a load of fat cattle that brought a good price. ' Wlliam Sporer was a dinner guest Sunday at the home of his son, Chester Sporer and family. Have Fine Dinner Owen Keil, of Omaha, was hero Monday to spend the day with his mother, Mrs. Philip Keil, Sr. the twp being guests in the evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wohlfanh at a fiae fried chicken dinner. Undergoing Observation Mrs. Mae S. Morgau, teacher in the Burlington," Iowa, schools,- a former resident if this city, is now at the linmanuel hospital at Omaha. Mrs. Moigan suffered a fall some time ago and has not" bevu in the Lest of condition so that it was de eided to have her taken to the hos pital for observation. Dies from Heat Blue Springs, Neb.,-Aug. 4. (UP) The seasonal heat wave had taken another victim in Nebraska today. All came with well filled baskets and a delicious fried chicken din ner was enjoyed by all of the group. In the afternoon ice cream and cake was enjoyed by the family. Mr. Spangler who is entering the naval service, was formerly in the navy several years ago and complet ed one term of service. Those who attended the dinner were: Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Albin, Un ion, Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Sack and Richard, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Spang ler, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Spangler and Nadine, Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. George Mumm and family. To Visit in East Early Monday morning Miss Rose J. Prohaska departed for a brier isit in the east. She was accompan ied by her niece, Miss Verona It. Jer abek of Omaha. The tv.o ladies will visit relatives in Baltimore, and friends at other points, including Washington, D. C. Miss Jerabek is a member of the teaching force in the Central high school at Omaha, and is a grandaughter of the late Mr. and . Mrs. Ferdinand Prohaska, Sr., Mis? Prohaska will return about September 1st to resume her teaching iu the Plattsmouth schools. Visits Uncle Here Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Briggs had a very pieaaut surprise on Monday when Paul Stangenberg, of Whittier, Calif., arrived iu the city tor a short visit with them. Mr. Stangenberg is engaged in a hospital near Whit tier and Lad au occasion to bring a patient to his home. in South Dakota and decided to drop down for a visit here am! his former home in Lincoln. The isit was especially enjoyed as Mommy was the eighty-fourth birthday of Mr. Briggs, who was busy as- usual despite the observance of the anniversary. Visits in Omaha Miss Ruth Ann Nelson is visiting i in Omaha as a guest of her brother.
