Mr. and Mrs. Chester Sporer and family with William Sporer, were at Shenandoah, Iowa, Wednesday on business. They found the crops in the lowlands not so good. To Visit at Camp Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sporer last Sunday took their daughters, Mary Catherine and Martini to Camp Brewster, near Bellevue, to spend a week in the pleasant camp devoted this season to the girl activities. William Sporer was a dinner guest on Sunday of his son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sporer. Charles Sporer, assisted by Adolph Koubek, of Plattsmouth. had been detasseling the hybrid corn at his farnf. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar McDonald were hos and hostess at their home at a dinner party for their son, Robert McDonald and family of Avoca, and Mr. and Mrs. William Meyers and family of Greenwood. 1'arr Young was in Omaha Monday morning with a choice load of fat cattle from his feed yards south west of Murray. Oveicome by Heat Charles Meade,, while engaged in working at the farm of Earl Lan caster, assisting in the threshing, was oveicome by the heat. He suf fered the attack Saturday and is now some better. Star at Community Sing Four of the Schafer sisters, daugh ters of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schafer, of west of Murray,' were featured in the program at the community sing at Elnvwood park, Omaha, on last Sunday. Prior to the sing the. girls entertained their parents, Mr.' and Mrs. Herman Wohlfarth, of Murray, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fullerton at dinner. The four girls, Kathleen, Norma, Ruth and Betty, proved one of the big hits of the program that featur ed also several other quartettes. Denver. . lie would have been. 76 years old July 12. He attended the country schools and later Wes leyan University. He was married to Carrie McKinnon eptSember Hi. 1891, who passed away in 1911. Orion was affiliated with the Metho dist church at an early age, and was engaged in Sunday School or- ginazational work for several years. In Sept em tier 1913 Orion married Marie;. SwartZ' of Elm wood. Soon afterwards they moved to Denver, where they have since resided. Orion had a kind, syniathetic, jovial disposition, which endeared him to his family and friends. lie leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Marie, a -brother Charles C, of Weeping Walec and many nieces! Si and nephews,, all of whom regard it im as a favorite uncle. H. Graves, rural mail carrier at Plattsmouth, with.M. O. Church ill, oT Murray, were at Peru Sun oay. They visited with George and Edward Graves, brothers of J. H., and brothers-in-law of Mr. Churchill. John Frans, painter and decora tor, has been busy paiutiug the home of George and Edward Graves at Peru, as well as the home of John Sans in Murray. Lucian Carper was in Omaha on business Monday.
