Wall has been at the Arthur Thomson home near Palmyra helping to care for her little grand daughter who has had pneumonia. She is reported to be better at this writing. Charles Scattergood returned from Iowa last Sunday where he has spent several weeks building a barn on his farm south of Osceola, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Morrison and family moved here from Osceola, Iowa recently and are living southeast of Eagle on the Harrison Scattergood farm. Mrs. Martha Cooper came out from' Lincoln where she is spending the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Tar-' ley Hoham and visited with relatives in Eagle. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Frohlich took their son. She will spend the winter with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ankeny of that city. Miss Donna Belle Judkins spent last Sunday with relatives in Eagle. Mrs. Bert Lytle entertained thej Methodist W. S. C. S. at her home! last Wednesday afternoon. The mem-! bers and several guests enjoyed the meeting and an exchange of gifts. Mrs. Raymond Norris and children visited Mrs. Norris in Elmwood last Friday evening. Deer at Murray When only one person reports having seen a deer dashing through the fields in this section of Ne- braska, most persons are prone to call the whole thing an optical il lusion or tell the witness it was a horse or some other domestic ani mal. But according to the reports of Mr. and Mrs. George Troop, who live near Murray, a number of farmers yn that vicinity, including Fred Drucker. who got a good loolf through his field glasses, saw the animal head south across the Troop property early this week.
