Plattsmouth, Neb., Aug. 18, 1942 The County Board of Equalization met at the call of the County Clerk as provided try law. Present R. L. Nor ris, II. C. Backemeyer and S. T. Gil mour, County Commissioners, Geo. R. Sayles, County Clerk, and W. II. Puis, County Assessor. The following business was trans acted in regular form: County Assessor W. II. Puis re turned "the total assessed valuation of $34,709,271 of the county for the year 1942. lhe state levy for 194 was certi fied to the board at 2.39 mills. The county board made a levy of .12 mill for the expense of Cass county patients in State Insane hospitals, which made the total state levy 2.51 mills, 1942 county levies were made as follows: General Fund, 1.90 mills; Road Fund, 1.20 mills; Bridge Fund, .50 mill; Poor Relief Fund, .45 mill; Mothers Pension Fund, .03 mill; Soldiers Relief Fund, .01 mill; Total County Levy 4.09 mills, making the total state and county levy 6.60 mills. A levy of $2.00 per capita was made for Old Age Assistance Fund. A levv of 25 cents per $100 for Class "A" and 80 cents per $100 for Class "B" was made for Intangible tax. A levy of 10 cents per stand was made for Bee tax. The County Superintendent certi fied a levy of 1.2 mills for High School tuition tax, which was ap proved by the board. The following city and village levies were approved: lhe 1,'nited States Civil Service Corn mis ion is recruiting Classified Laborers for employment at Bremer ton, Washington. Laborers are needed at the Naval Ammunition "De pot and at the Puget Sound Navy Vard at Bremerton, Washingtan. The salaries for Classified Laborers will be $7.04 per day with time and one-half for time over 40 hours. At the present time laborers are re quired to work 48 hours per week. All persons who are qualified must furnish their own transportation to Eremerton, Washington. Ap pointees will not be able to bring dependents to Bremerton until they find accommodations. Bus trans portation from Premerton to Navy i aid is 10c per single trip. Persons interested should communicate im mediately with the Secretary, Board of U. S.
