Mrs. Ernest Sehanz and her two small sons, who with Mr. Schanz ar rived Saturday from St. Louis for a visit. Mr. Schanz returned home Mon day. Mrs. Schanz and the children will remain, for about two weeks. Their man' friends here will be glad to know that Ernest has a posi tion as a foreman in the Curtis Wright plane factory at St. Louis. Marylin and Joan Blacker, of Ne braska City, are spending two weeks visiting at the home of their grand parents. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Martin. Mrs. True Harmon of Avoea. was a visitor in Weeping Water Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Joe Abrams of Plattsmouth. were visiting friends in Weeping Water Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Colbert, Dorothy Jean and Archie Crozier went fo Lincoln where they attended a picnic dinner at the home of Mrs. O rosier 's brother-in-law and sister. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mots. Quite a number of relatives in Lincoln join ed them and all enjoyed a fine din ner and a visit during the afternoon. Mrs. Thomas Mnrtey received a telegram Monday, telling of the death of her sister. Mrs. Mollie Hill Styles, at Salinas, Calif. Funeral services w.-re held at Walla Walla. " Wash. Mis. Styles had been ill for the past two years, bul the end came very suddenly. She will be rt -mcmbcred by old settlors here as she visited here S'ver.J! times. Her last visit was as she returned from a year's study of musicj abroad. Mr.jr.n 1 Mis. T. L. Jones left Mon day fr Wichita, Kansas, where they expect to anise their home. Mr. Jones to enjoy the home-made ice cream social and community sing. All re turned praising the song fest with the words being thrown on a screen j 1 and the leaders baton hearing a llisht which made it much easier and more impressive. The many friends here of Billy Cowger. enjoyed a brief visit from him the first part of the week as he came from Leavenworth where he is stationed for a short furlough. Ralph Dinger arrived home the first part of the week for a seven day furlough from his school at Car ly!e Barracks. Carlyle. Pa. His parents took him to Omaha. Miss Margaret Thieman of Omaha was a week end visitor at home. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Campbell spent Wednesday at the Chester Camp hell home. j (Hen Lackey of Omaha, called on j his grandfather, Fred Weaver, Sun day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Plum and fam ily attended the Lutheran Aid As sociation meeting at the Louis Knpfce home. Thursday evening. Miss Alma Klagge-t of Denver has been a visitor with her cousin, .Mary Ann Yardley. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Dougherty of Alvo were Sunday dinner guests of her parents. Heebner, a girl from Sarpy county and Kathleen Balfour as driver left in the Balfour car for Camp at Sew ard, Nebraska, which lasted 4 days, Aug. 4th to 7th. While there we listened to interesting talks by the game wardens from the Forestation Game Commission. Badger Clark from the Llark Hills was present to read his wonderful poetry which Each day we went swimming. We were divided into 4 groups and each day the groups had lectures shooting, furs, mammals and snakes. We caught bugs and mounted them. I placed second in the archery con test, also second in the number of autographs I got. In the evenings we had Vespers and moving pictures which dealt with Nebraska. Thursday we went to Lincoln where we visited Pioneer Park, Antelope Park and Morrill Hall. Friday was the fishing con test. We were served good meals while there. The Plattsmouth party drove to Rockford and secured very pleasant cabins at the camp near there and where they had the pleasure of a visit with Frederick over Saturday and Sunday. lie is located at Camp Grant, near Rockford, being now in the midst of his training period. The party after the return of Frederick to camp, drove north to Delevan lake, Wisconsin, where they enjoyed a short stay at this popular lake resort. They found Delevan lake a most attractive spot and es pecially at this season of the year when many are there for outings.
