II WILL UNDERGO TREATMENT From Monday's Daily Jess Green, who for the past year lias been in poor health, was taken to Omaha this morning where he will undergo hospitalization. Mr. Green is suffering from a heart ail ment. Taken to Haspital From Monday's Daily C. W. Haffke, who has been under treatment for the past several months as the result of an infection of one of his legs and feet, was taken to Omaha today. Mr. Haffke has been under treatment and hospital care, but some two weeks ago was brought to his home here. Cloidt, cashier of the cars parked near the Herold apart- off duty the greater part of the last week, due to a dental operation that required the removal of his lower teeth, was back on the job today. Mr. Cloidt is still feeling the ef fects of the operation but able to be out to assist in the work of the bank. Mrs. Floyd Gerbeling, a former employe of the bank prior to her marriage, has been called back into service for a time at least to assist in the bookkeeping department of the bank, owing to the fact that Arthur Warga. a clerk has been called into service of the United States. Mr. Warga, is reporting for duty in the army. Visits at Grand Island From Monday's Daily Register of Deeds Mrs. Gertrude Gorton was a visitor over the week end at Grand" Island with her hus band, Wayne Gorton, engaged there in the construction of the large ord nance plant. Housing is a problem at that city, as great as at any of the defense towns of the state. Visits in South Dakota From Monday's Daily Miss Kathleen Nolte, of near this city, is, spending a short time near Bristol, So. Dak., where she is the guest of a number of cousins. She made the trip to Bristol in company with another cousin, Donald Grade, of Santa Monica, Calif., who is en joying a visit with his family in the central west. Mr. Grade is employed in the Douglas plant at Santa Monica. Funeral of Mrs. Campbell From Monday's Daily The funeral' services for Mrs. William Campbell, 73, at the Lewis ton community center Sunday after noon drew a large attendance of the old-time friends and neighbors. The services were conducted by Rev. Ger ald Gardner. The interment was at the church nearby the church. The pallbearers were old friends and members of the family: Eugfcae Fitch, James Chriswisser, Herbert Oumpbell, Albertus Campbell, Glen Campbell and Greeey Beil. Ida Bell Woods was born at Oska loosa, Iowa, and in 1890 she was married to William Campbell and the family has largely made their i home in Cass county since that t ime. They have been living near Union where Mrs. Campbell passed away at noon Friday. Her husband and two children. j Mrs. Emma E. Thomason and Fred j Campbell, both of Plattsmouth, sur jvive. A car belonging to one of the boarders at the home of Mrs. J. N. Jordan, on North 6th street, was loft parked on the street after mid night Saturday and yesterday was found minus a tire. The car had apparently been driven out in the cocntry and the tire stripped off, later brought back and parked. Last week "Dusty" was awarded ?7.50 for a suggestion adopted in the plant where he was employed, the citation being as below: Lorence T. Rhoades (30) was awarded $7.50 for changing the recognized procedure in the hydro press section. Iach- night, when the hydro-press is shut down the hydro table is cleared and the press is set down on the empty table. In the morning the dies were replaced and work continued. This unloading and loading operation took consid erable tirje. As the result of this suggestion the procedure has been changed so that the dies remain on the table and one shift continues the work left unfinished by the preceding shift.
