Mooney and sons of Deshler were visiting friends and relatives here and in Ashland Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Blum and Kenneth Livers called at the William Blum home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Dill drove to Lincoln Saturday to enjoy the parade and program at Wyuka cemetery, where Mrs. Dill's parents are laid to rest. Mr. and Mrs. William Blum, Helen and Herbert drove to Alvo Sunday afternoon where they( called at the P. Johnson home. Paul Campbell left Sunday after spending the week-end with his mother Mrs. Cora Campbell. Mrs. Oscar Dill and Mrs. Bernard Dill and Janice Ann were Lincoln visitors Thursday. Bob Oanz return ed home with them to visit his aunt. Sunday dinner guests of V. D. Liv ers were Mr. and Mrs. Dallace Livers and daughters and Mrs. John Kettle. Mr. and Mrs. George Vogel and Loran motored to Omaha Sunday to call on relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Blum were Wednesday evening callers at the Martin Zaar home. Saturday evening callers with Cora Campbell were Mr. and Mrs. John McGinnes and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. August Thimgan. Mr. and Mrs. McGinnes spent a few days with f'iends before moving to their new home in Kansas. James Dill spent Thursday with Keith and Verla Livers. r. W. J. O'Brien was visiting rela tives in Kansas over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Haswell.and family spent Decoration day in Tej- kama with Mr. Haswell's father. Marvin Sutton, Mrs. Ida Thieman and Elda drove to Omaha Wednesday to visit Margaret Theiman, who is suffering from an injured leg. Mrs. Clyde Haswell and Artis ac companied Mrs. Hazel Peterson on a trip to Lincoln Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Blum were Sunday evening visitors at the V. O. Livers home. Sunday dinner guests at the Fred Cordes home were Miss Lavina and Doris and Orville Codes. Airs. Alice Kitrell was enjoying a visit from Colorado relatives, also Mr. and Mrs. Sid Kitrell of Lincoln, on Thursday. Mrs. Homer Carnicle and Mrs. Cora Campbell drove to Ashland Monday to attend the funeral services for Mrs. Bentz. William Carnicle was a visitor sev eral days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Carnicle. Mrs. Glen Thiessen and Nancy Streigh spent Tuesday afternoon in Plattsmouth. Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Hanson and children were Tuesday evening visit ors at the Charles Fosberg home. The George Thun family of Plattsmouth and a sister from Yank ton, S. D., were visiting at the Aug. Thun home Sunday. Mrs. William Haynie of Meadow exiled on her sister, Mrs. Hugh Var gas and family Sunday afternoon. Miss Burdick was a Thursday eve ning dinner guest at the Hugh Var gas home. Sam Long has been having a seige of measlles. Mrs. Albert Blum drove to Omaha and Plattswouth Friday where she and her sister decorated graves in jhe family lot in Ulattsmouth. She returned home Saturday. Sally and Robert Kuhn have had msulles the past week. Mrs. Hugh Vaigas took her broth er, Bill, to his home in Meadow Sat urday evening. He has been staying with her attending school in South Bend. Glen Weaver called on his father, Fred Weaver, Sunday. Mrs. Charles Bradley and son of Auburn, stayed at the Lem McGinnis home while her mother spen a few days with relatives in Texas. Luke Park gates opened Sunday with a good attendance. Farmers are busy getting in corn crops. Planting was delayed by the heavy rains and cool cloudy weather. Paul Campbell of Minataire came Friday for a short visit at the home of his mother, Mrs. Cora Campbell, and Rtfssell. Friendly Circle Meets The Friendly Circle mej. on Thurs day with Mrs. Helen Fidler. A fav orite bit of poetry was roll call answer. After a short business meet ing the ladies spent the afternoon making buttonholes and sewing Red Cross garments. A very pleasant afternoon was spent after which the hostess and her assistant served ice cream, waf ers and coffee. Berneice Straight was a visitor. The next meeting will be held on June 11 as a family picnic with Mrs. Eleanora Vogel. Takes New Position Frrm Thursday's Daily Wilbur Claus, one of the members of the graduating class of 1942 of the Plattsmouth high school, has ac cepted a position in the office of County Treasurer Turner as clerk and this morning was on the job of helping on the bookkeeping of the office. He was one of the high rank ing students of the school in his four years. In the commercial department he was one of the outstanding stu dents. He takes the place made va cant when Rex Bourne departed for Calfornia several weeks ago. AN APPRECIATION I wish to sincerely thank the many friends for their thoughtful re membrances given me while at the hospital. Mr. Gerner has been teaching the past year at Tecumseh, Neb., where he has had a very successful sea son. He will spend the summer at Lincoln being an instructor at the summer school of the University of Nebraska. 'S.IIII VISITS IN CITY Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Royal of Compton, Calif., with Mrs. Nellie Ellington of Plainview, were here Thursday to visit with Miss Bertha Ellington. They enjoyed the visit here and also motored to the Young cemetery south of the city and to Rock Bluffs, old home of the Ell ington family. NOTICE TO CREDITORS. The minimum wage paid to all skilled labor employed on this contract shall be seventy-five (75) cents per hour. The minimum wage paid to all intermediate labor employed on this contract shall be sixty (60) cents per hour. The minimum wage paid to all unskilled labor employed on this contract shall be forty-five (45) cents per hour.
