The Nai smith Memorial committee has just announced that with the addition of Aztec High School of Aztec, New Mexico, latest team to designate one of its regularly scheduled home bas ketball games as a Golden Ball game (the receipts to go to the fund which will be used to build a Temple of Basketball in honor of Dr. Naismith) everyone of the 4S states is now rep resented in the Golden Jubilee of Basketball Campaign. Aztec high school brings the num ber of Golden Ball Games near the 1,100 mark. From Maine to Florida and from New York to California, high schools, colleges, professional and amateur club teams have enlist ed wholeheartedly in the nation-wide effort to commemorate the name of the inventor of the game. Institu tions that do not have teams have gone on record as being willing to contribute to the fund, while those with teams have offered in many cases all or part of the receipts of their Golden Ball Games, in the in terests of the Temple of Easketball. This edifice which will rise near the site of the first basketball game ever played, namely that arranged by Dr. Naismith in 1S91, will house a museum and hall of fame. There will be kept the records of past, present and future cage teams, and there too each year will be en shrined the All-America quintets chosen by officially appointed author ities. The Temple of Basketball will serve to give substance to the ideals and traditions of the pastime which in 50 years has swept around the world, and today is played by the youth of 52 nations. Among the attractive contest, all of which are links in the chain of Golden Ball Games girdling the coun try, are: Army-Navy, Pennsylvania Cornell, New York U.-Lehigh, Ford-ham-Columbia, Duke-V. P. Cooperstown, New York, site of Baseball's Halls of Fame, has declar ed it will support the drive for a Basketball Hall of Fame, announcing that its high school team has desig nated one of its home games as a Golden Ball Game. Morris Harvey College of Charles ton, West Virginia, not only register ed a Golden Call Game, but stated that the game would be played under special conditions, virtually unprece dented in intercollegiate basketball. The game, with West Virginia Tech, will not be played according to the regular time arrangements, but will be won by the team that scores 50 points first.
