Many Gaests at Aid In addition to the large group of Plattsmouth women who attended the Christian church Ladies Aid in this city Wednesday afternoon, there were guests from Murray and My nard communities. In fact a por tion of the program given included talent from a few of the women from those vicinities. The program opened with all sing ing "Silent Night" to Mrs. O. C. Hudson's accompaniment. Mrs. Mike Kaffenberger read the Bible Christ mas story; Mrs. Irene Lutz and Mrs. R. A. Noel of Murray, sang an ap propriate number with Mrs. Long at the piano. Miss Ruth Ann Nel son sang "Star of the East," Mrs. Ed Thimgan playing the accompani ment. "Room for Christ" was the beautiful hymn sung by Mrs. Earl j Circle Meeting and Party I Mrs. I). M. Babbitt was in charge of the entertainment at the Karl W. Grosshans home Thursday afternoon, when Dorcas circle members of the Methodist church assembled for their business meeting and Christmas party. Mrs. Val Burkel, Mrs. Evan i Noble were associate hostesses. A ! f ew ladies whose birthdays occurred i last month were honored guests. ! Circle officials reported all expenses jpaid for this year with a balance in the treasury. The usual exchange !of gifts took place. The program consisted of Christ mas carol singing by all; then a reading, a Christmas story, by Mrs. Mike Kaffenberger; a piano number, Christmas Carols, by Betty Ann Al bert; and the program closed with the singing of "America" by all. This was followed by the serving of refreshments. Committee mem bers were Mesdames Otto Pitz, Eern ard Wurl. John Libershal, Hulda Weidman. W. II. Puis. Ben Speck, A. Meisinger and Miss Amelia Martens. Naomi Circle Mesdames William Heinrich, Albert Funke. S. J. Million, Leslie Hutchin son, Wallace Lundeen, Lowell S. De- voe, Blanche Price, William Evers, Joseph Wiles, Clement Woster, Logan Covert, Robert B. Keller, Edgar Newton, and Miss Clementine Woster comprised the guest list at Mrs. J. Howard Davis' home yesterday after noon. The occasion was the regular monthly meeting of the Naomi cir cle, and it was a no-host affair. The society's regular chaplain was ill and unable to come, so Mrs. Helen Heinrich gave the devotionals with "Bethlehem ;Elackouts" as her topic. Members of this circle have agreed to enroll their division in the Am erican Red Cross by purchasing a membership. The ladies also planned to give Christmas gifts to organiz ations and charities. Gifts were ex changed. Mrs. Lowell S. Devoe gave a book review on "The Drum Goes Dead" by Bess Streeter Aldrich. at a lovely-appointed buffet supper and party Thursday evening for the Sunowa Camp Fire girls. Guests of the hostess and her daughter, Carol Lou were the Misses Marjorie Devoe, Elizabeth Davis. Dorothy Jean Cap pell. Mary Alice Cummins, Elizabeth Perry. Janet Tfckotter, Helen Yard ley, Eldora Shellenbarger, Margaret Heineman. The occasion was a for mal one. and the girls came attired in the pmartest winter fashions. Miss Marilyn Kieck, who was brought home from the Clarkon hospital. was unable to attend, but the Camp Fire sisters did not forget her for they wrote her a Round Robin letter. For entertainment, which followed the dinner party, the guests played charades and participated in a Christmas quiz. Gifts were exchanged. "Square Dealers" Meet The "Square Dealers" composed of a group of the business girls of the city, were entertained most charm ingly last evening at the home of Norma and Gloria Johnson on South 9th street. The members enjoyed cards for the greater part of the evening and in the playing Margaret Ann Pitz and Shirley Jacobs were the prize winners. The event was also in the nature of a Christmas party with the mem bers having an interchange of pres ents among themselves to add very much to the pleasures of the eve ning. The hostesses served delicious re freshments at an appropriate hour. Those attending were Misses Mar garet Ann Pitz, Corrine Hallstrom, Irene Anthes, Shirley Jacobs, Alice Jayne Grosshans, Mary Helen Dill, Norma and Gloria Johnson. Seniors Hold Party ! Senior class students, officers and a number of faculty members were entertained in the gymnasium of the Plattsmouth high school last eve ning. The event was their first class party and the turnout was more than had been expected. Dancing, the most popular entertainment, was enjoyed. Games were also played. The biggest, and best part of the af fair was the "feed." Guests danced to the music of the orchestra com posed of Roy Olson, Bill Robertson. Cary Marshall, Dick Livingston of Plattsmouth and Harvey, Elair of Louisville. Committee members responsible for the successful social were: Entertainment "Bill Robertson, chairman; Russell Nielsen, Dorothea Duxbury, Gertrude Cloidt. Luncheon Bette Gayer, chair man; John Slatinsky, Betty Jo Wil son, Leo Allen. Decorations Ralph "Pete" Hilt, chairman; Bill Hula, Wilma Nolte, Margaret Fricke. Music Lavina Troop and "Libby" Wiles. Faculty members guests of the seniors at their party were Vernon Waterman, the sponsor; Fred Mc Girr, Coach Bion Hoffman, Roy Ol son, Misses Thais Haley, Earbara Bates, Harriet Porter. Fron Saturday's DaTty- Card Clubs Meet The Central Building Teachers' : Bridge club was entertained by Miss Tritt at the Elmer Sundstrom home Wednesday evening. Miss Prohaska won the highest honor while Miss Sylvia Korbel won second, j At Mrs. Charles Waters' home the jBi-Monthly pinochle club members played cards and exchanged gifts Thursday night.
