SMITH, Attorney for Petitioner. n27-5w Elmwood By Journal Field Representative Mrs. Kenneth McBride and child ren of Nebraska City were week end visitors in Elmwood. Harry Marshall completed gather ing his coin last week and is right well pleased that the job is done. Business called N. D. Bothwell and Everett Lynn to Plattsmouth last Monday, they driving over in Mr. Bothwell's car. Claude C. Breckenfeldt of Lincoln was a visitor in Elmwood last Mon day, having business to look after while here. Mrs. William Schlenker has been very ill for some time and last week was taken to the Bryan Memorial hospital in Lincoln for treatment and observation. Guy Melt ill has been hustling and has his corn all in the crib. He i now helping Fred Weicheid with his shucking so the latter can be able to turn his stock into the field. Herman Stege has been sick at his home in the eastern part of town. He has been receiving the best of nursing and medical care, but his condition is quite serious. Louis Bornemeier took Mrs. Ad die Flaisehman to Weeping Water to have some dental work done last week. They alsi went to Nebraska City, where Airs, b laisehman con sulted her family doctor. M. Totman, who has con ducted a dental office in Elmwood for some time is now opening a sec ond office over the Nebraska State Bank in Weeping Water and will be there certain days of the week. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. West and son, Claude (Shorty) were enjoying Thanksgiving day at home and were joined by Mrs. Sidney James. Ken neth West, of St. Louis and a daugh ter, who lives in Lincoln, were un able to come home for the day. Mr. and Mrs. Eldro Marshall and the children departed last week for Detroit, where they will visit for a time with the parents of Mrs. Mar-1 shall. They were able to spend j Thankserivinir dav there and Willi remain for a week more before re turning home. Making Improvement Slowly Charles E. Wood, who was taken seriously ill some weeks ago, con tinues quite poorly and has been kept at home and in bed a greater part of the time. It is hoped that with sufficient rest he will be able to get around again soon. B. I. Clements at Hospital B. I. Clements was taken recently with a sudden and severe attack of heart trouble and was advised to go to the hospital in Lincoln for rest, observation and treatment. He has been at the institution for nearly a week and has shown some improve ment, although still rather poorly. To Elect Church Officers Members of the Elmwood Chris tian church will observe Family night at the church parlors on De cember 6th. There will be a supper and election of officers. All members are urged to be present. Thanksgiving at Ashland Mr. and Mrs. Claude Turner and the children enjoyed a very pleasant Thanksgiving day at their home in Ashland with the following present as guests: Mr. and Mrs. N. D. Both well and daughter, Jean Adair, the family of Orest Cook, Westley Cook and wife, all of Elmwood; Oscar Turner, the father and County Treas urer John Turner and family, of Plattsmouth.
