Rob ertson and family have had a busy week-end entertaining guests. Saturday evening the Robertsons entertained at dinner Miss Betty Rohrbaugh and Jack Rohrbaugh, Lincoln, guests of Miss Rachel Rob ertson. Following the dinner party, the Rohrbaughs and Rachel attend ed the Yale Ball at the Blackstone Hotel in Omaha. The ball is an an nual social event given by the Omaha alumni and students of Yale. Sunday Betty, Rachel and Jack Omaha. Mr. Grimes son is a student at Yale. Laie Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Harold Murphey and daughter, Vesta Lee with Miss Jessie Robertson returned to Lincoln after spending the holidays with relatives. An over-nisht guest at the Rob ertson home was Lieutenant John Dickerson of Fort Ord, California. Lieutenant Dickerson was en route to California after spending the holi day season at St. Paul, Minnesota, with his parents. Mrs. Sulli van was the former Anita Koehnke. Mrs. George Koehnke is expected to return to Nebraska the middle of January. Relatives revealed she may come to Plattsmouth for a visit. Twins Honored Monday Monday afternoon Dian and Dena Reichstadt were honor guests at a birthday party given for them by their mother, Mrs. Dan Reichstadt. Fourteen guests were present. Games were played in which Joan Hall was winner. The twins received many lovely gifts from their little friends. Birthday take and ice cream were served. Announce Engagement A surprise was given Miss Elaine Handley at her home Monday after noon, when a group of girls who were former neighbors and childhood play mates tendered her a china shower, honoring her approaching marriage to Hugh Stander, Jr. The afternoon was spent inform ally at games and reminiscences. After the serving of delicious refresh ments, having given Elaine much "good advice," the girls departed wishing her happiness and success in ber new home. From 'WedneBaay'B ally - Guests at Hudson Home Dr. and Mrs. O. C. Hudson and family had as guests at dinner today City Attorney and Mrs. J. Howard Davis and family. Entertains at Carrs Mrs. Robert Cappell entertained her club the Inklers at the Pete Carr apartment yesterday afternoon. Guests formed two tables of bridge. Mrs. Henry Starkjolui was high scorer, and Mrs. Fred Lugsch was runnerup. Carrs Entertain at Foursome In addition to the annual New Year's eve dance, sponsored by Plattsmouth firemen, individual and group parties took place last eve ring. Among the group entertain ers were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Carr, ; ho hosted Mr. and Mrs. Everett Newton and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Yelick at a watch-night party. Games were played and a luncheon served. DEATH OF MRS. PETER JANDA From Monday's Dally Mrs. Peter Janda, 62, of Wilber, died last evening at 9:30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louis Swoboda, in the west part of the city. She had been in . failing health for the past two years, a sufferer from chronic lymphatic leucemia, a rare blood disease. I Mrs. Janda came here in Novem ber to visit with the daughter and family and to be close to Omaha where she had been taking treat ments. The deceased lady had been a life long resident of Nebraska and was cne of the well known and highly respected residents of the Wilber community. The body was taken last night to the old home community to await the arrangements for the funeral, the last rites being probably Wednesday or Thursday, depending on the arrival of relatives from dis tant points. Mrs. Janda is survived by the hus band; three sons, Joseph and Fred of Wilber. Bill, a member of the IT. S. coast guard stationed on the east coast; two daughters, Mrs. Olga Hynek of Wilber and Mrs. Louis Swoboda of this city. NO DANCE AT EAGLES HALL THIS SATURDAY In courtesy to the Holy Rosary sponsored dance to be held at the American Legion building Saturday night (now being advertised In the Journal), the regular Saturday night dance at the Eagles hall will not be held this week. These dances, with the Rhythm Aces, local orchestra, have been gaining in popularity each week and will be continued regularly alter this week. -Their ad will be back in the Jour nal again next week. SHOWS IMPROVEMENT The friends of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pace over the county will be pleaned to learn that Mr. Pace Is reported as being somewhat Improved following a slight stroke suffered recently. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wohlfarth and three children, Carl, Mariam and Paul of Lincoln were Tuesday eve ning guests at the Robert Cappell home. Today they were special guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Mc Carty Mr. and Mrs. Frank Downey of Lincoln, were expected to be here this afternoon, but their arrival was uncertain. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Kocian and family today were Mrs. Martin Petersen and son, Edwin, diti-ghter, Heloise; Mrs. Frank Shaf fer and son. Norbert; and Bernard Volkl, all of St. Libory, Nebraska.
