COLE !0, I met the Nebraska delegation markets, Gold Coast, Lake Michigan, of 55 4-II club members and seven leaders at the Union Station in Omaha. We had our get-acquainted supper before leaving for Chicago to attend the Nineteenth National 4-Hjtra Club Congress and the National Live Stock Show. The delegation was divided into two groups. One went via the Rock and many other interesting and his torical places. In the evening we were guests of the Sunday Evening Club in Orches- Hall. All 4-H boys and girls that have one more year of 4-H work took part in the program, "Challenge of Citizenship." Each state was represented by its state flag. Tuesday morning at 7:15 a. m. the boys left by special train to the Armour and Swift packing plants. This delegation was divided into two groups. I went with the group to ! On Wednesday morning the boys and girls left for an educational tour as guests of the International Har vester company. They saw the Mc Cormic twine mills. I did not go on this tour as I was the Nebraska boy chosen as an escort for the style revue, and practiced at this time. At noon all style revue members had a special bus to the International Harvester Co. where we had lunch eon and were entertained by famous entertainers, one of which was Wayne King and his orchestra. Following this we boarded the motor coaches for the International Livestock Exposition for the horse show matinee. In the evening we attended the annual banquet of the Nineteenth National 4-H Club Congress in the Grand Ballroom of the Stephen's Hotel. At this time the National 4-H dress revue took place, a 4-H drama was given and the presen tation of national winners. At this time a $200 scholarship was given by Mrs. Alexander Kerr to Miss Vir ginia rollard, of Nehawka, the Cass county canning champion. After this banquet the Nebraska delega tion had a special dance in the Harri son Hotel, because of going home we could not attend the 4-H farewell party on Thursday evening. Thursday morning we made a tour to the Field Museum of Natural His tory. We saw the Hall of the Stone Age Men, Hall of the Races of Man kind and other exhibits. From the Museum we went to the Shedd Aquarium. Here we saw col lections of live fish and other aquatic creatures from the depths of the ocean and the four corners of the Jearth. Then we marched to the Stephen's Hotel where we attended a noon luncheon and entertainment in the Grand Ballroom of the Stephen's Hotel, guests of the Sears, Roebuck and Co. We were entertained by a magician, a comedy horse and "Quiz Kids of the Air." At this time the grand champion steer was announced and honors presented.1 Af 3 p. m. we boarded the electric' train for a trip to the Museum of Science and Indus try. Here we visited an actual coal mine in operation, a steam engine working, also modern oil well ma chinery on display. It was here that we saw the first airplane made and the smallest plane built. A wonder ful demonstration of how lightning strikes was given by General Electric. After this we returned to our hotels and had our supper. The Ne braska delegation then made prep arations for leaving for home. If it were not for this we would have at tended the informal farewell party, at the Stephen's Hotel. I have given you only a brief review or my -trip to unicago. we met many celebrities, heard many fine orchestras and bands and listen ed to some very interesting talks. Everything on this trip was of the best and most educational. We were given many souvenirs. I hope that every farm boy and girl will join a 4-H club and work for a trip to Chicago as their goal.
