Next week Louisville is coming to Plattsmouth for further degree work. It is with pleasure we note the renewed activity of the various fra ternal organizations following the summer season a clear indication of the good will among men in the U. S. A. It is on such good will and mutual understanding that democra cies come into being and continue to exist. On Tuesday evening the Rebekah lodge of Plattsmouth celebrated their 59th year and invited the I. O. O. F. members for a fine program and luncheon. JACK IN THE PICTURES Jack Erittain, whose reputation as a steeple Jack remains unchal lenged despite his age, had a very interesting picture of himself in the World-Herald, as well as one show ing him standing upright on the face of the clock in the court house tower. Grant and Schuyler Hackenberg, the presidential twins also were caught in the pictures. They were named for President IT. S. Grant and Vice-President Schuyler Colfax. ATTEND CARNIVAL Mr. and Mrs. August Keil and family of near Cedar Creek were in the city Saturday to attend the clos ing clay of the big entertainment feature that has become one of the best in the west. While in the city Mr. Keil called at the Journal to renew his subscription to the Jour nal and to order the paper sent to hi? daughter, Miss June, now teach ing at Butte, Nebraska.
