MOVING DAY FOR LIGHT OFFICE From ruesday'a Daffy Today is moving day Tor the busi ness offices of the Iowa-Nebraska Light & Tower company, moving tem porarily from their regular offices in the Leonard building to the rooms cn the east side of the Bates build ing at Fifth and Main streets. The move is made because of the! fact that the present offices are to bo redecorated and placed in good rhape for the fall and winter season. It is expected that the work may re quire two weeks, during which time the business affairs will be handled from the Fifth street offices. RETURNS TO DUTY From Tuesday's Pally Vincent F. Kelley, who was home for the week end with Mrs. Kelley and their child, departed Monday night for Omaha from where he goes to Des Jloines to resume his work as a traveling salesman. During the ab sence of Mr. Kelley, the wife and lit tle one are here with the parents, Sheriff and Mrs. Joe Mrasek. CONVALESCING Albert Tcman returned from the St. Catherine's hospital, Omaha Sat urday and is recuperating at his home after an emergency appendectomy. Thirteen members and four visi tors attended. A short business meeting was held at which time Mrs. L. B. Todd was elected president to take the place of Mrs. Ivan DeLes Dernier who Is leaving for Ohio. Three games were played and then Mrs. Alvin Meisinger was presented with a lovely bathinette as a gift from the entire club. A delicious luncheon of ice cream, cake and iced tea was served by the hostesses. HAS TONSILS REMOVED Doris Bethel, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bethel, underwent an operation for the removal of her tonsils Monday marningr. The child withstood the operation excellent. UNDERGOES AMPUTATION Mrs. Ruth Lancaster, who is em ployed in the Jacobs cafe in this city, received a telegram this week notifying her of the amputation of her son's right arm. . The son. Jack Lancaster, is in the St. Joseph hos pital, Ottumwa, Iowa, where he is still in a serious condition. Some time ago an ingrown hair On his arm was pulled out with tweezers by his sister. Following the act the arm began to swell fast ind he was rushed to the hospital ibout two weeks ago. The mother had been in Iowa to see the son and returned a short time ago with the satisfaction that the arm would be ave'. A sudden turn for the worse leveloped, which necessitated In the imputation of the arm. The eon is 'wenty-flve years old. VISITORS IN CITY Mr. and Mrs. Harold Record and family, of Douglas, Nebraska, were here over the week end and holiday, guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bajeck and at the Thomas Walling home.
