Station KOIL, launched into its summer schedule this week, requir ing some changes in the time of local programs to fit into the new network schedules. Elmer Davis, news commentator, Is now heard at 6:55 p. m. instead of 7:55. The daily broadcast of KOIL news takes place at 7:30 and 9:30 a. m., 12 o'clock noon, 1:30 and 3:15 p. m. and 10 o'clock at night. Amos and Andy, long time broad casters will now reach the listeners at 9 p. m. instead of 10. Incidental to the time changes, a new KOIL program is introduced. It is "Young Dr. Malone," a Columbia dramatic serial dedicated to the doc tors of America. "Dr. Malone" con cerns itself with the struggles of a young physician who gives up small town practice for a try at a more ambitious career in New York City. Ann, his nurse-wife, shares his bat tles. A well-known " surgeon checks the accuracy of the dramatic script to make it truly an "inside story" of a doctor's life. "Young Dr. Malone" is a KOIL feature daily at 2 p. m., Monday through Friday. The new time of the "Blondie" broadcast is 8:30 p. m. Columbia's 'The World Today," im portant to those endeavoring to keep track of war's developments, is now heard each afternoon at 4:45. Like every other new thing. It will take some little time for the listening public to acquaint themselves with the new broadcast schedules and Just about the time we get accus tomed to them, it will be time to return to standard time In the fall, and it will all have to be learned over again.
