Henry Shaffer purchased a lot in the West Manilla addition and will erect a dwelling house thereon in the spring. J, A. Martin last week moved into his new building. The postoffice now has more commodious quarters and his new photo gallery now fits him to do work that cannot be excelled. PRESTON. Sam and Kd Oberst were Falls City v isitors Saturday. Mrs. George Seabury and little laughter, Adelaide, returned to their home in Kansas City Saturday, after a lew days visit with her uncle, O. T. Little and family. Mrs. E. A. Litchfield and little daughter Elizabeth left Sunday for Ashland, where they will remain for a few weeks with her father. Dr. Merideth and family. School was dismissed Tuesday noon in order that the teachers of the city school could attend the teachers’ convention held in Lincoln this week and also to prepare for Thanksgiving. Mesdames I. S. Shirley and A. J. Buerstetta entertained a number of friends at the home of the former Friday afternoon. Trail was the leading feature. DAWSON John Ryan was a Falls City visitor Saturday. Margaret Ryan was down to Falls City Thursday and will go to school at the convent. Thomas Ryan, while catching som pigs, met with an accident which re sulted in a broken finger. Jess Bunker has charge of the Fairmont Creamery Co., now since Easchery Gates has resigned. Miss Anna Boss held a basket soc ial at. her school house out at Yale. It was well attended and enjoyed by all. Charles Cooper and Mike went up to Pawnee last week. Mr. Cooper's father got very badly hurt in an ele vator at that place. Miss Winifred Walters returned to her home in Axtell, Kansas last Friday. She has been visiting Mina Tiehen for about two weeks. McKinley Bodkins suffered a relaps Sunday, after almost recovering from: typhoid fever. The attending physi-1 cian fears he is now suffering from pneumonia. Mr. Pat O'Brien passed away at his home about six o’clock Monday evening. He has been ailing for a long time. He had reached a ripe old age. Notice to The Public.
