Charles Raper came up from Verdon last week and pure based a fine span of mules from Fred Meyers for which he paid $500. Nelson Shafer returned from St. •lot' Tuesday morning, where he has been under the doctors care for some time. He is improving, Mr. Richard Goolsby and family, formerly a restaurant man of Hits place, but who for several years lias been living near Salem, has rented the Barnes farm near town and has taken possession.
