Rank McMullen sold a car load of hogs to P. S. Heaeock Tuesday. J. S. McClain left on Tuesday for' South Dakota where he expects to buy land. Mr. and Mrs. Cluy Hutchings were Falls City visitors the latter part of the week. Mrs. Ross Kinton, who was seri ously ill on Saturday, is now able to be out again. Mrs. Fanny Athey slipped and fell Friday evening and sustained some serious bruises. Miss Ethel King left for Lincoln Saturday,where she will attend school at the state university. Mrs. Gilliland and son of Peru are visiting the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. James. Mr. Grant Shubert is the owner of a fine new "auto. He purchased it of Otner Saylors of Barada. Misses Lola Hill and Allle Bald win spent Saturday with their grand mother, Mrs. Theo Hill at Nemaha. Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Ross are mak ing pix parations to move to Seneca, Kas., where the former has employ ment. John Higgins returned home on Wednesday from Aberdeen, S. D., where he purchased a quarter sec tion of land. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Slagle are sorry to hear of the death of their infant baby. It was buried at Prairie Union Tuesday. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pond, who left two years ago for Gettysburg, S. D., will be glad to learn that they have return ed to Shubert. They have rented the O. R. Mrs. Maggie Miller and daughter of Waterloo, la., are here visiting rel atives and friends. Chester Stump and Perry Shaffer and their families returned last week from Hastings, Neb., where they have been attending an Advent camp meeting. Mr. Shaffer has sold his crops to R. ,1. Dunn. He sold his farm imple ments and stock last Wednesday. Wendell Gerweck and family, An drew Lippold and family, Gust Duer feldt and family, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Lippold, Jacob Wissinger and family, R.C.Duerfeldt and family were among those from this vicinity who attend ed the German day festivities at Falls City Wednesday. Clarence Scott returned to his home in Oklahoma after a visit with rel atives here. The hand gave an open air concert Saturday evening which was enjoyed by a large crowd. Will Davis has sold his restaurant to a gentleman from Craig, Mo. He left Saturday for California. Noali Allen came down from Omaha Sunday to visit a few days with his family at the home of Norman Sml lie and wife. Howard and Miss Alma Plasters went to Lincoln Tuesday where they will continue their studies at the state university. The ladies of the Baptist church gave a bake sale Saturday, and met with such good success Hint they will give another next Saturday. W. H. Wheeler is at home after a two months' stay at University Place. He has been there helping his brother Andy, with moving their lumber yard.
