Nellie Coupe and brother of Falls City visited Rulo friends Sunday. Talbert Hinkle took a pleasure trip to St. Joseph one day last week. Tom Whalen came home from Hia watha last week to visit liis mother. Drs. Henderson and Tefft were Falls City visitors one day last week. Edith, Clarence and Walter Kcr mode were Preston visitors Saturday. Mrs. J. W. Cunningham returned from n visit with friends at Kansas City. Edith Hinkle left Wednesday for Fayette, Mo., to attend school the coming year. Clyde Adams and wife returned Sunday from a visit to relatives at Nebraska City. Darveau and children re turned last week from a visit with her mother, near Salem. Miss Clark of Missouri lias opened up a millinery store in the Ella Carpenter store building. Fred Ball returned from Lincoln one day last week, where lie spent two weeks with his mother. Charlie Maze who lias been sic k at Dawson for the past two weeks was able to return to Rulo Friday. The convent opened their school Monday morning. Three sisters from Concordia, Kas., have charge. John and Theodore Majerus, J. A. Osburn and Mac Vastlne left last week 'O look at Colorado land. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Simon, return ed last week from Excelsior Springs, both much improved in health. The camp meeting closed Monday morn>Dg. A good crowd attended during the ten days time which it lasted. Pof. Voegelin returned from his visit in the east the latter part of the week and was ready for school Monday morning. Mrs. Will True and Lesley Inks left Sunday for Colorado Springs. They go hoping the trip and climate may benefit Mrs. True’s health. She has been failing in health for some time. Sam Hall and Leslie Inks drove to Salem one day last week. The team became frightened at an automobile, upset the buggy and threw the boys out. The men in the auto caught the team before they got away. The buggy was slightly broken and the boys badly seared. Testifies After Four Years. Carlisle Center, N. Y., G. B. Bailie of Falls City was a Salem visitor Sunday. Ms. It. R. Rule spent Sunday with her parents at this place. Dr. G. W. Reneker and family were up from Falls City Sunday. Dean Windle lias accepted a posi tion at Salem with the B. & M. Miss Cecil Sheely went to Lincoln Monday to attend the state fair. Miss Pearl Sheely and Mr. Wing of Falls City spent Sunday evening in Salem. William Kelly of Lincoln spent Saturday and Sunday with Miss Ce cil Sheely. Mr. anti Mrs. Lorance and daughter Miss Jennie, of Kansas spent Sunday in Salem. John Davis returned Sunday from a visit, to relatives and friends at Pawnee City. Josh Lord nd family were among the Falls City people who spent Sun day at this place. Mrs. Eliza Goolsby of Verdon is spending the week with W. W. Mc Dermet and family. Mrs. Frelze and her neice of Mound City, Mo., are visiting'at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Dowell. The Shlldneck Bros, purchased the Lon Turner hardware store Monday, and will consolidate the two. Mrs. Bud Rose returned home Fri day from her long western trip. She has been gone several months. Frank Kaulsma, nephew of G. W. Sheely, who has been in South Amer ica for the past two years, arrived in Salem Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Richardsou of Lin coln spent a very pleasant evening Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Sheely. Miss Lucy Gregory, who has been in poor health for some time was able to take up her work at the Pe ru Normal Monday morning. The many friends of Mrs. Jennie Shaw will be sorry to learn of her serious illness. Mrs. George Knep per is taking care of her baby while she is sick. Randolph and son Ralph, were Rulo visitors last week. Tom Gleason and Charles McCoy of Craig were here Saturday. A mission feast was held at the German Lutheran church Sunday. Mrs. Jake Wissinger and son Wal ter were in this vicinity Saturday. Ida, Maggie and Frances Pierce of Rulo were in this vicinity Tuesday. Will Frederick and wife were visit ors to Falls City the last of the week. Miss Maggie- Pierce opened school Monday morning with a large attend ance. Mrs. Waggoner and children were the guests of Mrs. E. E. Dufee Wed nesday. Dora and Lee Speers transacted business in the vicinity of Hamburg Monday. Mrs. Albert Randolph leaves Mon day for Missouri for a visit with her parents. John Michel,Henry Zimmerman and Leo Wintz were shopping in Fargo this week. Pearl Waggoner and Lucy Ander son spent Friday with A. F. Randolph and family. SHUBERT. Thomas Lilly, wife and little son were Barada visitors Sunday. Ur. Fritz Shirkolk sold a fine horse to the horse buyer Friday. He got $225 for her. .1. S. Lord of Falls City spent Sat urday here with his brother, C. A. and family. Mrs. Rulla Reasoner and children are now visiting relatives and friends at Ashland, Neb. Carl Chardler returned home on Monday from Pender where he spent a week with relatives. Miss Pearl Shubert is now home after spending some time with rela tives at different points. Mrs. Grant Shubert was called to Howe during the week by the seri ous illness of her brother. .1. C. Mrs. Smith and son, Lawrence left during the week for their home in Omaha, after spending several weeks with the former’s parents here. Fault Woodring and family return ed home from Rockport, Mo., Thurs day after spending a few days with relatives and friends here and at llar ada and Falls City. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schulenberg, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Peters and little daughter, Mildred, were entertained at the home of John Rumbaugh and wife east of Barada Sunday. C. A. Lord and family left Tues day for Lincoln where they expect to make their future home. They leave a host of friends here who regret to lose them, hut wish them suc cess In their new home.
