OWENS LENDS HELPING HAND Brotherly Love and Harmony inthe Churches A few d.-iys ago a member of the soliciting committee for the new Presbyterian church, called upon some of the Bretheren workers and was immediately in formed that the church had taken action on the matter without any solicitation and had made up a purse among their membership and in a few days the money would he handed to the building committee. We are pleased to know the various churches in Falls City are drawing nearer to each other, lor we all realize that it: unity there is strength. In this in stance the contribution was great ly appreciated but the beautiful fellowship speaks louder than words. Lucky Bill in Town Lucky Hill with his wagon show was greeted by a large crowd Tuesday evening. The show was all they claimed it to l»e and the trained animals, ac robats and wire walkers pleased all who attended. The show has been here several times but always draws a good crowd. Boy s Brigade '1' h e Baptist Boy's Brig'ade practiced with their new guns tor the first time last Friday night. The y are certainly proud and en joy the work immensely. Hurrah lor the soldier boys. If you want to be one of them better give in your name at once. Buys an Auburn Theater Mr. Ed. M. May and wife have bought the Elite theater from T. A, Hailey and will proceed at once to overhaul and put in new apparatus and fixtures and will undoubtedly make a success. Mr. May is a brother of Allen May of the Republican office, and while he is a man of get-up and hustle, his wife is a tnusi jcian and will manage that part of the entertainment. Auburn < Jranger. Fire at Rulo Monday night Rulo was visited by a fire and only by hard work were many store buildings saved. The lire caught at the central office and it was impossible to save that building or any of its ! contents. We did not learn the estimate of the loss or who the building belonged to. Loses Valuable Dog , While out hunting Monday R. R. Rule was unfortunate enough to have a tine stage hound run over by the train and killed The dug was valued at $50 and was given to Mr. Rule some thing less than a year ago by a friend of his who was a travel* ing man. Buncoed in Chicago Theodore Eangstone, 70 years old. a resident of Tecumseh. was the victim of a confidence woman while on a trip to Chicago last Monday. He was fleeced out of >1.1 He has returned home a poorer but wiser man. Ministers Meet The Falls City Ministerial Association met at the I’niun House Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Besides the routine business, the election of officers came up and resulted as follows; Rev. C. A. Mastin, President; Rev. J. R. Nanmnga, Vice Pres ident; Rev. R. Close School Miss Mona Wilcox closed a very successful term of school at the Center school last Friday. The pupils gave an excellent program and with their many friends enjoyed a picnic dinner.
