Humboldt Head er. ( hie of the finest sermons ever preached in Falls City was de livered at the Christian church Sunday morning by Rev. Day. The subject was “Getting In spiration for Christ.’ Mrs. J. R. Cain of Stella rendered a beauti 1 ul solo at this service. Dr. II. 13- Foster is packing his household goods and moving to Seward. Mrs. Foster who is recovering from a siege of typhoid fever will remain in the city at tlie home of her lather. Hank Lapp for some time Miss Jessie Withce came down from Stella Saturday and visited Mrs. Neal Mulligan. On Sunday she left for McCook where she will spend sometime with friends. When business is good that is the time to force it. because it will come easy; and when it is bad, that is the time to force it, too, because you need it. A new speed association lias been organized in Auburn and it looks very much like that city will again he a member of the circuit, after an absence of a yeer. Mrs. Allie Van (liindv who was called to this city by the death of her sister. Mrs. Maud Hurst, re turned to her home in Washing ton, Friday. C. 13. A. Mrs. Ed May who has spent some time in this city visiting at the home of A. Keller has joined her husband in the east and are spending a short time in Virginia now. The Cook Courier says that the Missouri Pacific road is the only one mentioned in the biblc in the following passage: “And on the fifth day was created every thing that creeps.” Mr. and Mrs. Abner McKee re- i turned from Kansas City Satur* day night, where they spent a few days with the latter’s brother, Jule Schoenlicit, who is in a crit* teal condition. There will be regular services at the Christian church next Sun day. Falls City people are loud in their praise of Prof. Hurst for the splendid way he has awakened the spirit of progress and self confidence among the young peo ple at the high school. Whatever our place allotted to us by Providence, that for us is the post of honor and duty. God estimates us, not by the position w'e are in, but by the way in which we fill it. Miss Mable Poteet was so un fortunate as to cut her finger so badly Sunday that it became nec essary to call a physician. Carry Brunson and Miss Daisy Arnold of Verdon, were among the Verdon people who attended the theater Tuesday evening. Mrs. Carrie Schaible and Edna and Mr- and Mrs. Piper were guests of Henry and Ed Reiger at Preston during the week. Mrs. Carrie Lingo of Kansas City spent Tuesday in Falls City visiting her brother-in-law.Frank Metschan of the Tribune. Mahlon Beachy came oyer from Morrill and spent Tuesday with his brother.
